Question Is there a safe way to receive payments for virtual items?

Is there a safe way to receive payments for virtual items? (Google was no help for this question.)

I don't want to use service where payments via digital gold are transferred because it's annoying to buyers for all the work to get the money transferred into gold and then transferred over.

I was looking at moneybookers but I've heard even the smallest chargeback (e.g. someone claims card is stolen) and moneybookers shuts your account and demands expensive toll international phone calls and lots of mailings of passports. Here's one Suggestions please.. to resolve an issue with my Moneybookers where the chargeback amount was $7.50.

So anyone know?

What do you mean by virtual items? Like gaming items or digital items like software/ebooks? I sell those all the time taking paypal.

I meant some service that would make you immune to chargebacks. I've looked through systems that do payments by online bank accounts and they all are country-specific. Moneybookers when I asked them they said they don't do ACH which is cheap but wire payment which is expensive.

Also I found these links about e-gold acting like paypal:

Other then e-Gold, western union and money orders... I don't know of any. :(

That's what happens when you accept credit cards... you have to sometimes expect chargeback's. Lower your overhead and then it won't be so bad when one happens.

Well the gold sites appear to have people buy the gold with their bank account or some other method.

I've looked through online bank account payment sites and they are largely very country specific. Most are USA. One is Canada. One is UK. Bank account usually takes several days, too, and sometimes weeks for internatinal payments.
