Default 2 of 3 EB accts. got totally restricted today..

I am sad to report. I have 1 stealth acct. left but has 5/1000 haha. Well I guess it's better than nothing. Both losses were almost 60 days aged. I am just so bummed. I have not seen the reason why but it doesn't matter as I can't resolve anything.

It will be important, moving forward to see if you can isolate the problem. And the best time to think about it is RIGHT NOW, because 30 days from now you won't remember what happened. Here are a few thoughts...

Did you log these accounts in without changing the IP's?
Did you accidentally enter the password from one account on the other account?
Was there ANY interaction whatsoever between these two accounts?
Are either or both of them on a VPS or a VPN?

Go over the stealth guide step by step and try to determine if anything could have gone wrong with each individual step. Even if you can't nail it, you should be able to eliminate some steps as you remember they were done perfectly. Then, look at the ones that are left and try to give it your best guess as to what went wrong.

There is no sin in making mistakes, it happens to all of us. Repeating the same mistakes over and over is, however, an unforgivable sin!

If it was a VPN, why would that necessarily be a bad thing also surely ebay cant trace by entering one accounts password in another?

Sorry to hear about this.

Didnt you lose a few accounts like this a while back?

You must be linking or something.

Exact reason why I always post to have many, many backups ready and running.

eBay is aware of many VPN provider's IP ranges. If eBay traces your IP to a VPN provider, it is an instant ban.

And, no, eBay might not immediately detect entering a password for one account on a different account. However, if the accounts are SUSPECT in any way, and a human being looks at them, they very well could.

It is all about Stealth Best Practices which basically means NOT cutting corners and always trying to eliminate as many risks as possible. Those that master it do well. The others? Well... just look around the forum for the sob stories.

Sorry to hear this.

What notices did you get?

There will be reasons so let's see if we can work out why. Then you can avoid them in future.

VPNs are generally known to paypal/ebay. May flag an account badly.

Yes, common passwords can link accounts.

What we need to find out from the OP is how this happened.

Has it been a 'bot' generated suspension or have the accounts been reviewed manually.

Should it be the latter, then there is a high chance a common password could be discovered.

We need more from the OP to analyse

If VPNs are blacklisted by eBay due to the fact that they can be used to make stealth accounts. I'm sure eBay would be doing much more to remove all stealth accounts which are running on eBay right? Such as asking for ID etc.

They do a lot of account removal - especially the ones who dont know how to operate well. You got caught because of your activity - best to go for VPS or other better ways of getting IP...many VPNs tend to be burned to the ground so the flags go up on eB end right away - they are not such a simple platform...

Wow! What a shock for you.

Maybe it happened because you are really in China and not the USA.

Maybe you dont know how to be correct in stealth?

My advice would be to follow the stealth guide but to also go above and beyond. I cut risks wherever possible. I also use a fresh computer for EACH pair of eBay and Amazon accounts (1 of each per PC). So, I have a lot of PC's. But they are cheap now, it's not like years ago when a starter system would set you back $1,500.

This means that I do not have to worry about MAC addresses and browser or machine fingerprinting. I also use a separate internet connection for each PC. Yes, I have a lot of accounts - Cable, DSL, Mobile Broadband, VPS's, etc. But that means I don't have to worry about IP addresses.

Each PC has wallpaper with the stealth name for that account which means I am much less likely to make a mistake when logging in.

I abandoned Google Voice long ago. I always use a small paid provider for my phone numbers, and I maintain one for each pair of accounts.

My way is more expensive, but I don't lose very many accounts.

On the other extreme are those users who don't want to pay for anything. They want Google Voice because it is free, they want the $5 VPS provider and they want to cram 30 stealth accounts onto one PC. They use only VBA's and try to transfer money from one PayPal account to another, because it is easier and cheaper. Then, when the accounts are lost, they scream like scorched cats.

Of course, some people can do all of that and still keep everything straight, but I am not one of them. And I want to stay AHEAD OF THE CURVE - as much as possible - because eBay, Amazon and PayPal are constantly improving their security measures.

In any business, even a stealth one, it sometimes takes some money to make money.
