Default Do you answer stupid customer questions?

Do you answer every single stupid question that you get about a product, or do you ignore the ones from the idiots who can't simply look at a picture or read a description?

I seriously get so tired of morons messaging me questions that could be answered by my two-year old nephew. LOOK AT THE PICTURE AND READ THE DESCRIPTION. 99% of questions don't need to be asked.

I get tired of opening message after message from idiots who can't read or look at a picture. My favorite are the ones who ask me to ship to a country that I don't ship to, or the ones that literally can't read or type in English. My posting was typed in English, so why in the world would you ask me a question in Spanish?

I ignore them, and they don't bid.

Those customers are the customers who cause the most damage.

Process as follows:

CTRL C.....Site Map...Block Bidder/Buyer List...Add and eBay user to my Blocked Bidder/Buyer list... CTRL V... SUBMIT

Sometimes I will browse through their feedback to see if they have a history of being a moron. But most the time if you are to dumb to read the listing. And I have a very short 1-2 paragraph listing with all the important things in bold or a different color. Then you are too dumb to buy from me.

I do my best to make my listings what I consider to be "idiot proof". So unless they are drunk, high, etc, There is no reason they shouldn't be able to figure it out. If you can't and you are going to message me that you can't. Please go be somebody else problem. I don't care if I lose out on 5 sales if I prevent one return or one moron buyer. It is worth it to me.

I open the message but I dont answer questions about product that are already covered - hell, I dont WANT that kind of buyer business - next thing you know, you are dealing with returns for minor oddities...

I understand your need to vent

Day is not long enough to reply to their idiocy.

If they can not READ the listing & look at the photos and make an informed choice, then I make it for them.

They get blocked.

If they purchase, and come back with silly questions, I may call them.

Often they never ask questions again

Yeah for a blocked bidders' list

I do not answer stupid questions and I block them. Dumb questions, come from dumb buyers, which leads to problems.

Definitely a good follow-up - slap the buyer on your blocked bidder list ASAP

I dont think so....

eg, listing of a LIGHT BLUE COLORED TEE shirt size M ( male) with associated & assorted photos.

And the question is can you tell me if the Tee shirt is light blue?

the only reply to that is 'Congratulations, you just won the T-shirt with the one gold star. It matches your IQ
OR

purchase of 3 pieces of rail track measuring one inch wide & six inches long... to post securely, I tape the 3 pieces together...works most of the time. But no...
Hello you did not send me the 3 pieces of track. All I got was one piece of track which is too thick & no use to me. What should I do????

Maybe stick one end in your ear hole and see if it lights up your brain?

No

Only on Amazon for the fear of getting reviewed and not answering emails.

On ebay I never respond, ive learned its a waste of time and you dont gain the sale for explaing the difference between this and that model.

I used to feel this way. Then I realized that it would just take less time to answer "Yes." and hit submit.

Rather than rage about it, I just got "zen" about the situation. Made me feel better at the end of the day.

Yeah sure, but those are the customers who either don't leave feedback, leave neutral feedback, or negative feedback for amazingly ridiculous reasons.

"the shipping took 5 days" - neutral Feedback
Um yeah, that's what my posting said?

I merely think those thoughts
Sending such a reply is counterproductive
Laugh at their stupidity.
Block them. Move on

I've had a lot offering '£400' if I ship to Nigeria, even if my item would sell for £150 at most.
I always ignore these as I know that they are scammers.
I do however answer other stupid questions.

That's why I never got that phone for my Great Aunt's third husband's 2nd cousin's 5th wife's 3rd son? You did not want to send to that family? What really put you off?
