MC999 request questions

Hey guys, I also just received a MC999 email, but i dont think its for the photos , here is the message and i would appreciate any input

We need your help to confirm some account information. eBay reviews accounts regularly to ensure a safe marketplace. Please contact us as soon as possible.

How many have you sold?

Was a Listing Removed? - NO

Is it a new account? - 2.5 months old

What have you been selling? - books

How many have you sold? - Around 90

And when im trying to edit a listing to add items, im getting this message :

Is the account Stealth?
If so, do you log IPs, use separate user accounts?

You tripped up a security flag they probably need to verify your identity it may just be a few easy questions just have your info and phone number in order if its stealth before calling in

Yes it is my only stealth account and the only eBay account I use.
I only log in using a separate windows user and tether it through my iPhone

In really worried since its my first stealth account and everything has been going smoothly up until now , but I'm sure it's not that bad since my listings are still active right ?

Start creating more accounts , it's bad when you get mc999 your account is under review

It is very important if you want to run an ebay business anymore to have multiple accounts up and running and growing.

Building accounts for the holiday season now would be the best move you could make.

Hm, it sounds like a verification call.

If you do call, which i advise once you're prepared.

have ALL the info right in front of you.
Name/birthdate/address etc etc.

They may ask random identity questions and these are questions where they get most people.

may also ask you how you're getting these books ( supplier )
be smooth, be smart & be prepared

Had that iphone been used with a suspended account?

This is the first time for me so im kind of nervous, I just want to get as much input as possible from you guys before I call in.

Do you have other accounts besides this one? While calling in to handle this account is good - a better move is to understand stealth and get backups going - spread the sales

Yes start making back ups ASAP , yes if u can save an account it would be great but one account should just be a very small piece of ur business because ebay closes accounts all the time for reasons they don't even know , so create many accounts to keep your sales always rolling in

When you say books, are we talking the paper versions or ebooks?

I know ebay have clamped down with ebook sales due to copyright, could it be that they want to speak to you about what you are selling?

Could also be that there are too many sellers of these particular books? Just tossing out ideas out there.

But if you are using stock ideas...yes that is a big problem coupled with too many sellers using the same photos

Somtime they will request ID copy confirm the user , utility bill confirm the address , also receipts or invoice confirm the item u selling in ebay .

I received the same MC999 today on one of my new accounts (2 months old account). I called Customer service and the account was reinstatement after 5 minutes. The rep asked me couple of questions like my name, address etc but then she was like OK now you can sell again on your account but if you want us to increase your selling limit you will have to provide us with some additional informations. Then she sent me the following email:

"Thanks for your phone call, it was my pleasure assisting you. As part of our efforts to keep eBay a safe and enjoyable place to buy and sell, we may sometimes ask members to verify the information they’ve registered with us.

In order to increase your selling limits, we are asking you to confirm your name and address.

So that we can review your account, please provide us with the following documents:

Proof of the name and address you have on file with us
– A copy of the front and back of your driver’s license or other government-issued identification, and
– A recent credit card statement or utility bill that shows your billing address. (You can black out your account numbers.)"

Does anyone have similar experience? Should I fax them what they asked or should i just ignore the email since my account is working fine now?

Have you tried putting up 1 listing since your conversation?
