Default how to not sell to zero feedback bidder

my auction-listed item just ended and the winner has 0 feedback. this item is a designer brand luxury good (completely real). im afraid they might try and pull a quick one since ebay/pp favor buyers with any case. is there a way i can just give it to the second highest bidder and ignore the winner? once again, im not doing any fraud, my item is legit, real, and expensive. thanks.

Once they win the auction keep in mind even if u refund the buyer their money they can still leave a negative feedback for you, u would need to have both parties agree to cancel the transaction , so you are obligated to sell to the highest bidder, sometimes if you watch the end of the auction and u catch that one of the bidders has (0) feedback u can quickly add to the no bid list and hope they get out bid and than won't be able to come over with another high bid , but at this point it's too late. Maybe someone else will have a creative idea

Should of set rules such as no zero feedback buyers, etc.

I don't think you can exclude bidders with zero feedback. It is possible to block buyers with a negative rating, but let's face it, there won't be too many of those around.

yes, its not possible to exclude bidders with 0 feedback.
make sure you insure your item before shipping, request signature and put tracking on it. this should be enough for seller's protection.

If its expensive, I recommend record the packing process as well.

Wow, you use to be able to. I just checked the Buyer Requirements section for US eBay account. Lol, you can block buyer with Negative Feedback. -1, -2, -3.

Sellers haven't been able to leave negatives for buyers in years. WOW. Talk about an Relic setting.

I would record the entire process to cover yourself, record the overall condition of the item, you packaging it, and if any case the buyer returns something back to you ( fraud obviously ) and you open it up only to find out its a package full of magazines --- you will want to record everything from step one.

117 posts and you come for help AFTER the auction ended.

You should have had that worked out before making the listing.

Did you mark it Immediate Paypal Payment needed?

Do you have all the paperwork to prove the item is real. Be ready there.

Are you prepared to ship it with signature confirmation, full insurance. In other words, short of delivering by hand, are you fully covered? Take steps with packing as suggested previously.

On to the buyer. Check them thoroughly. Check their paypal, check their shipping address is confirmed and is the same as paypal records.

If ONE thing seems off, then you just dropped the item & it broke.....
what a pity. Sorry I must cancel the bid.

Not sure I need explain further

For FUTURE auctions like this - it would be BEST if you check on your auction 10 min before it ends - see who the high bidder is and CANCEL his bid if you are concerned.

GB is correct - you are waiting until AFTER the auction ends....need to be more pro-active with high end items and risky bidders in general, not just reactive.

All the best with your decision.

IF he doesnt pay then open the NPB - I wouldnt consider cancelling the auction unless he explicitly states that he would like it cancelled.
