Default Alibaba supplier - bite the bullet?

Ok I have been in discussions with a supplier for a while now and have been quoted a price that I am happy with.

The problem I have ran into is that they don't accept escrow. The order is for $700 and will need to be produced by the supplier which will take a number f weeks.

Now I know that gold passes on alibaba don mean much but they are onto their third year. His must surely mean something? I doubt a scammer could get 3 years deep and keep the gold pass?

They are also onsite checked. Im am not sure if his holds any weight at all?

I have googled, company name/scam and absolutely nothing has come up with regards to it being a scam.

Wen I google the company name it appears on lots of b2b websites and still no scam reports.

Am I correct in thinking that this company sounds legit?

that gold doesnt mean anything. Its just a fee you pay to get/keep that.

The company sounds good, check their feedback. If you cant afford to lose the $700 dont proceed. Ask them for another method of payment.

Some suppliers confuse escrow with something else. You trying to complete the payment through alibaba right?

They do not accept alibaba escrow or any other type. They are asking for t/t.

How can I check company feedback on alibaba? I thought that was only aliexpress?

There not askin for Western union or something like that correct???

If you can pay with a CC and you did your due dillegence on the company than I'd say try it out and possibly ask for a smaller sample size .

If the company is legit they should not have a problem doing a smaller test order if it means they can get a potential long term customer.

Tell them you would like a test order of $200 ( or whatever ur comfortable with)

Another thing you can do is ask for a free sample, usually if its legit they have no problem sending one sample to you.

And yes all that gold standard is, they pay $3000 every year and get that title that's it

But no scam reports in 3 years is a good sign I'd imagine. Is t/t bank transfer? I won't be able to use m credit card if so.

After all this, no escrow?

Credit card, credit card, credit card as the payment method. Cover your back. Will you use a VISA backed card?

Rather exciting for you

Yes it will be visa but absolutely no escrow. They just said the smallest sample order they do is $335 and with shipping on top it won't be much cheaper than $700.

I have got the total sample size down to $490 sample amount and that includes delivery. I'm just gonna go with this and hope for the best.

Fingers crossed

Suppliers are different when it comes to them making stuff for you. Like I said before, if you cant afford to risk that kind of money look elsewhere

Sometimes you just have to take the risk. About a decade ago when I was 16 I got taken for $800 on scam when i was first trying to get started on eBay. Sucked because it was like all the money I had in the world at the time. But I did find another supplier did lots of business with them for years.

That is the thing about being a businessman you have to be as careful as possible but sometimes you just have to go with your gut and take the risk. I still get pissed off thinking somebody would scam a 16 year old kid out of all their money. But I learned from it and in the grand scheme of things it ended up be a relatively small loss.

I was too scammed my first ever time. I was like 16 at the time too and it was all I had aswell. It wasn't as much money as you though.

I didn't actually make my first successful purchase until I was about 20-21. I can remember them insisting on western union too. Luckily for me they sent the goods and sent me on my way a little.

I'm hoping to make payment for this stuff today. It's dragging out terribly. I will keep the topic alive and inform if this turns out well or not.

Why not? Do you have a major branded cc?

You can use a DEBIT card in the UK if it has the VISA sign and be protected.

Speak to the bank before you do anything .

Be careful.
