Default Amazon API Linking?

Hello,

I know many people use the API in some sort or fashion. Most people use it unknowingly through a 3rd party OMS or software.

I will be using the API using a script I got programmed myself on my server. Is there any threat of Amazon linking through my server's IP address using the API when I use the same script for multiple stealth accounts?

Any input is appreciated!

Same script could cause issues - kind of logical - can you vary it?

Well, all the script does is send emails requesting feedback to my customers. It pulls order info using API based on set parameters and then uses GMAIL SMTP to send emails. What do you think?

But if all your accounts are working with this script to ask for feedback, would be clear that Az could link due to complaints or to script flagging...

how it is getting this info? Is it logging on? Is it getting the info from an already made report that is hosted locally?

You sending that info via gmail, but dont forget inside that header lists the ip address it came from, ie your server.

I wanna learn their API.

It gets the info using the MWS API. I am not programmer savvy but the IP address Amazon gets if they even log it for API useage is my server IP which hasn't ever accessed an amazon seller account.

It is a fact that gmail does NOT list your IP to the sender.

I want to use two different companies on multiple stealth accounts to connect thru the AMz AWS API, One for retrieving orders and marking them as sent and another for adjusting stock levels across the different Amz European marketplaces.

I am assuming Amz will retrieve the companies IP and MAC addresses when they connect thru AWS API.

Because they are companies that specialise in this service, there will also be many other AMz users already using their services.

Would it be safe to do this this ?

Thanks

I use a 3rd party software for some Amazon stuff. Here is their response when it comes to API linking (the method they use):

"Absolutely not. No end user IP addresses are ever passed to Amazon. Amazon is aware that we are an "integrator" as they call it and thousands of accounts are all sending and receiving data from a few dozen IP addresses. Using the same profile will not cause Amazon to link your accounts, we only send the final *** to Amazon, not how we arrived at it."

In other words, people can use the same log in through this 3rd party system to access a number of API's and there is no linking from it. That's not to say that every 3rd party utilizes the same methods though.

That makes complete sense. There are thousands of sellers using the same OMS software which sends and retrieves data via API...all of these would be linked otherwise.
