Activity: 0% Longevity: 87% | | Someone at ebay fell and banged their head with limit increases
Holy moly.
Signed into an account that is close to 5 months old and had 10-1000 limits.
Limits are now 300 and 15,000.00.
About fell off the chair at this limit and had to look twice to make sure it was for real.
I have had some crazy raises recently but nothing like going from 10-1000 to 300 and 15k.
Just so members will know all I have listed is box lot, yard sale, garage sale items on this account for the 5 months.
Nothing new, all usable household type items.
Items I mainly get in box lots at local antique auctions etc.
May be even some thrift store items in the group.
Someone must have fell and hit the wrong button on this one.
Will baby this for a few more months and hammer it to death come November and December.

Something is changing inside ebay i feel.
The 'sell more' division is winning over the 'kill them all' security division.
You can only mess up for so long at the head of big corp until the wind changes.
Likely the VP of 'kill them all' security division i going to 'spend more time with his family'. Last time i talked to customer service about a suspended account, they told me to go 'sell on amazon'. Now that amazon is eating their lunch, ebay is changing its stance it seems.
Hopefully that will last.
Next on my list is the email 'please come back , we have been too harsh on you mr seller'
J.

The article jeffweico found the other day ties nicely into this sudden increase in sales ebay is pushing. I'm sure its the driving force behind all of these limit increases. Competition between amazon and ebay is good for us sellers... http://www.aspkin.com/forums/ebay-ne...than-ebay.html | The Following User Says Thank You to An0nym0u$ For This Useful Post: | |

Also when I found out ebay hired a team of consultants to come in and help them handle customer service issues with sellers that told me they were in deep trouble.
Ever since then they have done some non ebay like things.
Remember it is ebay, notorious for given you one hand to make it look all sweet and then taking the another route to take something away.

Yea the raises have been insane, I have some accounts name branded new items that jumped to 100/10,000 in 2 months, and raises and double raises everytime I log in an account now. They must of missed their projections for the first 2 quarters so now need to make it up in the last 2 or something

Last November I talked to two ebay reps about an out of the blue ban of one of my high limit ebay seller account. They both told me to go 'sell on amazon'. They were obviously reading from a script.
Fastforward a couple of month later. Quarters have been missed... Now we are seeing the raise-o-matic machine in full gear to try to stop the bleeding.
I hope they fired the 'Captain Genius' at eBay who came up with these kind of stupid "go sell at Amazon" ideas.

It is also probably because ebay finally realizes that they need the seller just as much, if not MORE, than the buyers.
Ebay is not like amazon.
Ebay is just an escrow service and middle man that you pay for a parking space to per sale.
They hold NO stock or items and have failed at arbitration and are also far from professional.
Lets hope for more positive changes in treating their sellers better...

The eBay and Amazon paradigm is an interesting one.
Because Amazon essentially makes nothing (gross margin) on tangible goods it sells. All its real revenue comes from digital media sales. Kindle, MP3 downloads, etc.
I think eBay knows that. So those members selling media and items that Amazon basically sells at cost. I think they could care less about you.
I have noticed over the past few years member who sell tangible goods. Clothing, antiques, older toys. Things that eBay isn't as much directly competing with Amazon with. Those are the sellers they seem to care more about. More to Sandy's point about getting raises in limits for selling household and garage sale type stuff. People selling Iphone cords or whatever else I do think eBay could care less about you. As to why they have straight up told some members to sell on Amazon.
Personally I buy stuff off Amazon they have mastered customer service and if you are prime member getting stuff in two days rather than driving to the store is and possibly paying more is awesome. Personally I have taken out a major short position in Amazon stock. I think it could crash up to 90%.

On my real account , like first week of January , I was suspended just from selling, the reason "your a good seller that's why your still allowed to buy , and there's many other sites like Amazon you can sell on" bunch of idiots didnt realize they were saying this to alot of members, guess they took their advice.
I need to check their sales see if they are down. But it would make alot of sense why everyone is getting this big raises.
So many ebay sellers drop ship from amazon so Amazon in a sense owns Ebay

Large mega corp also don't understand what they are fully doing.
Ebay probably did not measure impact of fighting fraud like ' a blind man with a shotgun in a busy street'.
I expect more changes coming from ebay.

Today, there are more stealth flights under eBay radar outplaying the robotic control system, causing a rainbow alarm. Subsequently, alerting the traffic controllers to manage the insecurity in favor of the stealths to allow a smooth flow of business competition against Amazon.
I honestly hope the this benefits the struggle of the innocent trying to make a living.

I got 4 accts at 250,000 each!!! No kidding, your guess is as good as mine.
What I remember is that I had all Pos feedback for all sales (about 50) with 5.0 stars DSR's.
Got these 'good work, ada boy emails' from ebay then pow!

This morning I was going through my list of accounts to get ready for tomorrow nights listing and found an account I have not listed on for a couple of months.
Thought what the heck I had better go see what the account had listed and check out paypal.
Signed in. Went from 250-5000 to 500-7500.
One of those accounts I have already sold over 100 items on this year so for the next month or so I will just toss on a handful of items to keep it active and then hit it with 500 items come December.
