Supposed Top Rated account suspended but still active: WHY

Hello everyone I'm hoping you can help me understand what just happened to me.

I had a top rated seller account an I suspended indefinitely last year in November 2012.

I recently received an email from that account from a member I guess I sold to last year asking a question about the item?? So I was like hmmmm that account is suspended???

I didn't want to login of course from my current ip but was very curious! I went to a location with a different IP an I logged into my old account an it was active?? My selling limit was $50,0000 a month I was still rated as a powerseller an top rated?? I was beside myself!

I then made a call to ebay an was like my account is active why?? They were like what do you mean why?? Your a excellent seller and are top rated where have you been you haven't sold in awhile?? Im like saying to myself because my account was banned???

Has this happened to anyone??? I am so tempted to sell on this account again but am very wary!!! Please advise as to why ebay would suspend my account permintlly but then 9 months later its active an still top rated after no sales in 9 months???? Thanks

If you are not already stealthing, do yourself a favor and grab the guide.

Why was your account suspended 9 months ago?

eBay Tier 1 will not be able to see what the Trust Team can see.

If your PayPal is still connected to this account, it does not hurt to try listing. That will be the real litmus test.

No I took my paypal off the account when they suspended me in fear they would suspend my paypal also so nothing is linked to it right now I just don't understand why my account is active after being suspended?

I fought with ebay til the end about my account I didn't want to loose it but I was I guess a repeat offender of their vero items

And a big rule here and this will only help you never call ebay, they are not your friend and by calling whatever may have got passed their security software is now under a human eye by calling and whatever they tell u is a script possibly what u want to hear than 5 later u will get an email saying ur suspended

Even though you unlinked the paypal on your side, ebay & paypal will know it used to be linked to this account. It is not advised to use this paypal at this moment.

What was your original notice of suspension? Tell us more about that.

I have the same exact issue with my original account. Had TRS status and unlimited selling restrictions, but it was suspended indefinitely for selling. It is just a buying account now. I only log onto it from work and never mix it with any of my stealth accounts.

Ebay does this where they limit you from using the selling side on an account, but keep it open so you can still buy from it.

You may continue to use this account for buying purposes only, but I would tread lightly when operating your old account w/ your new stealth account(s).

Have you tried a test sale? Are you getting the message of suspension when you try to sell?

yes , u can try listing , u will get some message from ebay said u cannot listing , because for ebay safty , blablabla .... if u can listing mean your account is fine , but not listing too fast ~
