Non UK-resident, VAT & Play.com Merchant

I didn't know where to open this topic, so I apologize in advance if it is misplaced.

I am trying to find alternatives to sell my products. I want to apply for a Basic Play.com Merchant store, which costs around 320 GBP per 6 months.



But Play.com requires a UK-based bank account. I am not a UK resident, so is this even possible?

Possible with UK IP if you think about it - then apply stealth methodology...unless you are asked for PROOF of UK residency...then it becomes rough challenge with documents.

Play.com Check the Electoral Roll. I can't see a way around this.

Well, play.com replied and told me that non UK-residents have opened a UK based bank account using Foreign Exchange - Excellent Foreign Exchange Rates. But don't know how that works..
