In another article they mentioned that the ACCC found fraud was 20 times higher in paypal than with credit cards and paypal just passes all fraud off onto the seller (though credit cards do the same).

well for one the head of the TOS department is a ex FBI agent...as long as they got him there, they don't have to worry about the goverment period he's has all the right contacts to pull the right strings to keep ebay ah float

Nah i dont think that would do it. I mean the monopoly.
It's like in UK BT (British Telecom) They own all of the cables/network in the country, they could have just been the only communications provider in the uk, which meant they supplied everyones broadband, telephones the lot, but ofcom stepped in because of it all being a big monopoly and wasnt fair. Surely there's someone or something that can be done here?????

isn't the UK really bad about this stuff? i wish the U.S. paid more attention :(

Overall, the UK is pretty anal about a lot of things. LOL.

Don't forget that the decision in Australia does not have a confirmed ruling yet.
My understanding is that it will be announced in mid July.

ebay has NOT YET WONthe case. The ACCC will not hand down its
rulings until 7/15/2008. Status quo still exists in Australia.
At this time I am still getting emails from the ACCC to confirm the information
