Default Both PP & eBay got limited on a 10 weeks old stealth. Received too much money?

Hi guys

Ok so I made a few fresh new stealth back in June. The last one was made on June 27, so it has been 10 weeks old.

I passed $1000 anti-landruny last month, and been selling domestically up to the limit each month so far (my limit was $7500). And as I sell wholesale off eBay as well, I have been receive in large volume of payment through this PayPal. In the past, I started receiving few hundreds, few weeks later I increased to 1k - 2k. Had received about 5 - 6 payments close to 2k each in the last 2 weeks. And 3 days ago I received a payment of $3k.

Pretty much right after that, they put a limitation on my PayPal ask me to provide tracking. And also eBay limited ask for proof of identity, invoices & supplier contact. So I supplied everything and eBay got reinstated the next day. But PayPal after verified the tracking, ask me to provide invoices & supplier contact as well. So I did provided to them, but this morning I received an email saying the appeal is denied. And the eBay is limited again under MC046 and is asking the same documents again??

Just want to know if this is because I have received too much money in PayPal? And if this account still can be reinstated or is that it?

Thanks for any advice.

My guess would be that the volume of money received triggered it, but that PayPal saw something on the invoices they did not like. Were the invoices from a legitimate supplier that could be verified by a phone call? Were they from China? I'm not asking what you are selling, but could you let us know the category?

Your answers will help us to diagnose and hopefully solve the problem.

Would be unfair to say of restoration might happen.

Certainly the amount of funds is never liked by paypal AU.

Too much too soon

Called PP this morning, spoke to two different person. They said that they can confirm both the tracking & invoice but they see potential risks within my account so PayPal decided to no longer providing their service to me.

I sell branded clothing & shoes. But the wholesale payments are all with a description of "payment" only, no description of anything. Guess it's just the volume that triggered them?

It is difficult to sell branded merchandise on eBay, especially if counterfeits exist for your items. Your items can be 100% legitimate, but the counterfeiters have ruined it for everyone. PayPal is always going to be suspicious of those selling brand names, especially at any type of a discount.

Paypal dislike 'vague'.

'Payment only' could mean anything.

It's a poor excuse to be rid of your business, of course.

Thanks GB, so guess its better to actually provide a description so even if they ask for invoices, it does make sense for them.

@OP, PP loves information - if you provide description it COULD help...cant say anything is 100% with PP but hopefully so. Branded shoes and clothing is always risky business to them

My account manager advised me of this....

Avoid vagueness when giving requested info.

Comes to the trust factor for PayPal

Interesting to be told this by an eBay employee

Yep, it will.

'Gifts' get looked at as well.

Paypal is not silly. They know how people try to get around their rules....

Sorry but I wish it was otherwise.

We all wish it was otherwise. But there IS some good news here, a "silver lining" so to speak.

Once you get set up properly with stealth and start spreading your risk, your business will be more stable. If you have to take large payments ($1k - $2k) then you might want to think about an actual merchant account. They are MUCH more stable than PayPal.

Valid point by jeffweico.

Since you will be starting again, I would consider multiple choices for receiving payments.

Never put all your eggs in one basket ( so to speak).

This is doable for stealth.

Think of that approach.

I have got 3 accounts working for me at the same time, all have them have been receiving same or more payments than this account. Guess I'll have to spread them even more, thanks for all the advice guys.

Default Re: Both PP & eBay got limited on a 10 weeks old stealth. Received too much money?

This just happened to me except my ebay account survived and ebay account was not affected by it at all.

but PP acc gone. Submitted receipt from an Aussie bricks and mortar store. JBhifi to be specific. Receipt was genuine with their ABN and phone number and item product # is the same as the receipt as in my listing.

Next day pp emailed me saying i was a risky member and they are parting ways. called them up and asked them what the exact reason is.

explained to them on the phone that i have no disputes/chargebacks and that my account balance is not in the negative. 2 weeks prior to this. They verified and accepted my IDs for the $1000 money laundering limit so i know it isn't that.

The person on the phone said they can't tell me the reason why i was deemed risky and if i want to know the exact reason, that i will have to send a formal letter to their legal department and their legal department would respond telling me the exact reason. I did Get the address to it as i am extremely tempted to find out the exact reason. lol

The thing is I noticed paypal's email telling me they want to part ways was in the middle of the night so if they indeed called JB. they would've been closed. lol hopefully it's not because of that.

It is a good policy - have backups always ready too - rotate the accounts like some pros here do.
