Default How much can chase or Bank of America tolerate with name mismatches?

Does anyone know how much these 2 banks tolerate with name mismatches? I read in the Stealth Book that variations of your name is ok. But what about blatant mismatches?

No-one should really say outright yay or nay to this type of question.

Both of these banks are very tolerant.

But if the account is mishandled, then both banks will react to protect themselves.

Are you not able to consider less than blatant mismatching?

My name is pretty uncommon. Not sure how to mismatch them very well. I could, but I am afraid of running out of combinations. It's not like bob where you can have bob, bobby, Robert, Robby, on just the first name!

Considering the bank details must be in your real ID, you have a bit of leeway with a stealth name.....

a business account with each bank can mean deposits coming in under the name of IceBerg Trading would be fine if the holder's name is Mr Glacier.....
see the picture?

There's no real way to quantify an answer to your question. Many on users on the forum have these banks and yet to have problems.

Chase and BoA are pretty good with blatant mismatches. I have tried a BoA account - name was completely different (even a girls name vs. guy name) - deposit went through.

Now if you ABUSE the system with large amounts and going negative into the account...the bank will "smoke" you out

TD has worked well too as has Harris Bank

I have used 2 banks TD & BB&T using totally different names and gender. Never had an issue. The only issue I have had is using debit cards you buy off the rack in the drug store. Was told by a bank mgr. there is no way they could refuse a transfer just because the name doesn't match. That would discriminate against children with different names, married with different names and common law marriages and BF's & GF's not being able to transfer funds. And probably lots more I don't know about.

The nice thing about TD is that 1 card can control all the multiple accts. that I have their and I don't have to carry a gazillion with the EB acct name written on them so I know the difference. 1 card and into all the accounts to withdraw at ATM. Only downside is they can't do any out going interbank transfers online yet.

Please also when using these accounts, make sure you are handling them correctly. BofA, and Chase are great banks to use, but all banks have systems that report fraud. They allow Stealth, and will handle your withdrawal's nicely but please make sure that when you start out, do small amounts. Also don't give them a reason to close you down. Enough times and it could effect a lot of people!!!

Steady there.

OP has made no suggestion he will not work well with his accounts.

Avoid assuming.
