Default Legitimate concern or am I being paranoid?

You guys know on Payapl, when you confirm your bank account, you have the option to enter your online bank login information instead of waiting for the deposits into your account to clear? Can paypal link you through this info?

In other words, if i verify 3 different bank accounts to 3 different paypal accounts, and i verify each of them using the method of giving paypal my banking login ID and password, AND my login ID and password are the same for each bank account, can paypal link me this way??

Or am I just paranoid?

DO NOT choose the 'enter your bank login information'.

Wait the standard 3-5 business days to verify the deposits.

As a side note, always practice giving as little information to eBay/PP as possible. Even if they claim they do not share/store your login details...do you really trust them at this point?

Giving PP the login details for my online banking. That sounds like a very bad idea.

To answer the question, this will without a doubt link you if you give them the exact same info several times over.

Paranoid, in a good way.

Means you are paying attention to the trickery of paypal.

Method can be done.

BUT you should always give paypal very very very VERY little info of yourself.
That sign on would therefore be a big no.

Good Luck

Thank you all for your replies.

So I did make the mistake of providing paypal my login ID and password for my bank accounts on my past stealth account, but it's not gonna happen again.

You guys are AWESOME!

I have done a few VBAs in the past that were given with instant log-ins....they did work but I prefer the 2 deposit method. For REAL bank accounts, don't do the instant log-ins, that's for sure

Users here, including aspkin, have used the method with success.

But with paypal changing the game, it is not as popular.
Concerns over the deposits going in/coming out suggest to avoid using the method, imo.

If one had given PP the bank log in information, it would make sense that one should CHANGE the password after the info was verified.

Change the password is fine but you are still giving PP information

Used to be a good option but like anything else things change and with that comes the fact that since paypal now is reversing payments etc I would not do this.

The less interaction with them with their hands in your till the better.
