Activity: 0% Longevity: 61% | | Is it ok to have a french account and sell from Thailand ?
hi,
I've got a french Ebay/paypal account with real names, but I'm using it with a Thai IP. The fact is that every months I've got troubles as my account is getting locked for security reasons, blablablabla someone hacked your account blabla ... Stupid ebay robots thinks some1 from Thailand uses my French account, though I provided them many times with every documents proving I am now located in Thailand.
I've got another French Ebay/Paypal to me old GF names, do you think if I use a VPN with a French IP I won't run in the sames troubles ? Also will ebay closed my account If I decide to sell worldwide from Thailand and everything written in English ?
Thanks

Your methods of working are risky.
No wonder you keep on getting 'locked'.
You need to take better steps to run the accounts.
You will end up getting limited/suspended forever. |

Really I had no knowledge when I re-used my account a few couple of months.
I just told myself, well now I'm in Thailand for good I may use my old ebay account to sell some stuff. But after my first locked, I started to read everything about ebay and paypal, and I was the person who was really shocked lol
Now that I have many more knowledge, I cannot changed the fact I used this account and made many sales with it, it is a perfect 100% account, feedbacks and dsr.
So what to do with it ? I don't want to come back in france to save my account lol

Too expensive to return to France just for an ebay account.
What worries me is the fact you keep getting locked AFTER telling ebay.
A user claimed recently they approval from ebay in their country to use a foreign IP.
The other option would be considering VPS.
VPS would be a better solution than VPN. Depends on how much you want to sell.
If you listed internationally from Thailand you may find more suitable.
Still a few options to give to help you |

All the best

I'll go and learn more about VPS, I think it's a virtual windows or linux isnt it ...
What is dangerous about VPN ?
I read somewhere Ebay or Payapal use Advanced Proxy Check in order to check if someone behind a proxy or not. The VPN I have subscribed to access the french Paypal of my old GF is recognized as a real true IP from France.
There is no Ebay platform in Thailand as far as I know. I add several chat with Ebay operators, some of them told me to open a new Ebay in Malaysia in order to work in Thailand with Ebay. But I'm not sure I can trust them as every time I have a phone with Ebay, I've got a different song. And also I'm not sure I'm going to run in the same situation, Ebay sees a Thai IP but the account is registered is Malaysia. I really don't know what people from Thailand do to avoid trouble as there is no Ebay Thailand platform for selling.
If I go on any Asia platform, will any customers from around the world will be able to see my listings ? I usualy use ebay.com to list my items as this is the main solution to sell worldwide, afa I read Ebay faqs.

@alex70, you're making things way too complicated. First read about getting the France IP than with VPS. Chatting with eB operators is a waste of time and mental power....and now you have a Malaysian registered account? Is that correct?
What exactly have you DONE on eB in the past - please be clear for best advice.

No, I don't have a Malaysian account yet as I don't trust Ebay operators. I came here as I know I would get the right answers.
I'm selling cosmetics from Thailand with a Fench Ebay/Paypal. I did it for 6 months now and every months I have my account locked for security reason. I got it open very quickly every time but that's pure lost of time. My luck is that I have some items that sell very easy.
Now I have several options. I can open a new account from scratch. I live in Thailand for good and I have the same ISP service. I use a 3G dongle and my IP is reseted at every connection. But the ISP is the same since the beginning.
There is no Ebay Thailand platform where you can sell. It is not possible to registered as a Thai Ebay seller.
I want to open a new account, I can use the name of my Thai GF. My items sell well, I don't mind to start again with a new account. I just want to know where should I register it.
I'm ok for my current account being locked sometimes,,, I can live with it, but I'd like to get a fully working one.
Also, I have a second French account, just bought some stuff, never sold anything. I can attached another French verified Paypal account to it, everything being with real names. What would be the steps for this one to sell from Thailand ?
I'm sorry, I think my post may be a little bit confusing. Thx for the great help.

Your account is already flagged. You will get suspended eventually because the IP does not match. Your account will go under manual review and ebay will decide you are not worth the trouble.
1. if you want to buy/sell in thailand or malaysia, create a local account.
2. if you want to buy/sell in france, get a VPS asap to pretend you are physically in France
Do you ship from thailand directly? Where is the majority of your customer? Depending on your answer, I may have another answer for you.
thx
J.

Cosmetics? In Thailand?
Right.
There is an ebay thailand. ( of sorts)
Take a step backwards.
Split the accounts.
Work out how to continue ( if possible) with the first account.
Secondly explore how to use the old GFs account by the most reasonable methods.
Avoid VPNs. They are detected by paypal/ebay. Check out VPS.
Do these complicated accounts as simply as you can. |

What do you mean by there is an Ebay in Thailand. When I go on the Ebay Thailand website, I can see nothing to register. All I can seen is links to US,UK,FR etc Ebay other platforms.
I'm sure my actual account is probably flagged and will be closed for good one day. I use as much as I can. When It will come to die I'll let it go without a tear.
Here is the link to ebay thailand, which is the same for many countries in this part of the world : http://sea.ebay.com/
There is no way to register. Take a look at the "My Ebay" and "Sell" menus on the front page, they all redirect to other European or American Ebay's platforms.
Everything on the Ebay Thailand website is pure information on how to sell and buy on Ebay. There is no way to register.
Also as some Ebay operators tried to solve my situation, they all went to the fact there is no real Ebay Thailand, no way to register, and one of them told me to register in Malaysia if I wanted to sells from Thailand
Maybe there is a sort of Ebay Thailand, but please let me know what it is lol

What do you mean there's "no way to register". Simply go to www.ebay.com, click on Register, choose the country "Thailand", enter your details and you're done. What's the problem?

If you plan to test this method you should go slow, just because its working now doesn't mean it will work for long term, also why can't you use an IP in your Country? Is it not possible to change IP's easily?
