Default A bit about you?

OK, so I'm curious.

I can tell there's lot's of different people on this forum, here for many different reasons. I don't particularly have a success story to tell, or a story at all, but I'm intrigued to find out what some of you guy's do?

I live in the UK, I currently work in a secondary school and I'm interested in online business, wholesale & marketing etc. I don't earn millions but I am always looking to aim bigger & do more for myself.

I also love animals!

Do you own online businesses? When did you start etc?

I work in the medical field. Daytime work is in pharmaceutical industry - I consult also for the same industry these days. I have my spurts in eB and Az but lately, just been dabbling - selling mid-range to high-range collectible stuff for fun and extra coin.

Christmas itch is kind of beginning though...

I earn my main living from trading on race horses across the UK, and have eBay just running as a side thing, although really it seems to take up more of my time than the horse trading does Both make pretty good money, although I have to work a lot more on the eBay side of things to keep up with the competition and make sure I am on top of all the postage. Just building a proper website at the moment as well, although I have had websites in the past they were all relatively simple. Taking a lot of time building it, but its coming together nicely. Shall soon be getting SFB as well, no doubt it will be able to give me some pointers.

All in all it means I can pretty much set my own hours though, so I will not be stopping any of it anytime soon

Ha, that is what most people say.
Kind of, but its a case of buying in 30 or 40 bets and then selling them all very quickly at a better price (or sometimes selling them and then buying them in at a better price)

Calculated betting would be the term really. I never let the race finish with bets in hand, so it does not matter which horse wins (that is the theory at least)

It sounds to me like you're well on your way! I have only ever taken part in betting for the grand national! Any betting tips?!

Are you building your own website?

I am An0nym0u$ and prefer to stay that way.

All jokes aside, I work as a Network Engineer during the day and sell on eBay as a hobby / side business when I get home from work.

I don't need to be rich, just make enough money to keep the wife happy.

I am addicted to fantasy sports and sign up for a few online leagues, mostly w/ my co-workers and friends.

I actually know bugger all about the horses Just the mathematical theory that runs behind it all, and I use that to make the money. I am learning about the races bit by bit as the years go by though, so maybe one day I will be able to give tips :P

Building the site pretty much from scratch, so taking a few weeks. Starting to all come together though

I work full time on eBay, have been for 3yrs now.

Did a degree at the same time as running the business and graduated with a First class honours in Quantity Surveying. I did consider finding a 'real' job, but I earn too much to give it up and I enjoy being my own boss. :P

Hobbies are snowboarding, scuba diving, motorbikes, and browsing chinese wholesale websites lol.

Oh, and I'm a girl :P

I use to work for a online search engine that rhymes with "Noodle"...

I also enjoyed working for large affiliate and online marketing companies and such like for about 8 years. Loved the industry and travelled alot of Europe because of it but sadly there was always downsides including early mornings and late days and backstabbers always wanting the higher position to you so I jacked it in as the "politics" was just getting on my nerves.

Around the same time I saw the potential in applying what i knew with online marketing to develop a business which I started with ebay and amazon. Although I had a lot more potential to use other forms of online marketing and promotion to build my own websites/porducts, ebay and AZ has pretty much taken my time up but I enjoy being my own boss and working at it full time.

I do intend to put my knowledge eventually into practice and with the recent purchase of SFB, I hope to start that grand project on the side so I dont have to solely remain on flea bay and Amagone for an income. A residual income is what I'm after, something that eventually will be completely turn key so I can travel and revisit places and enjoy a little time to myself whilst earning regardless of what I'm doing. It dosen't have to be millions but id practically retire if i was pulling in a safe and guaranteed 4-8k a month

Money is money - as long as you enjoy making it the way you do it (and legal), no worries.

Independent Wife, Mom, entrepreneur who has owned and operated several businesses.

College grad with degrees in business and marketing who ran the customer service and marketing depts for a large corp for many years after I sold my manufacturing business.

Made my first stealth account just dabbling in 2003 ( believe it might be the first stealth account ever made? )

My hobby and collections are in the antiques and collectibles fields which I have been doing since I was a kid going to auctions, yard sales, flea markets with my Grandparents.

Ebay, Amazon, Etsy, Cyber Attic and selling in several antique malls is my hobby and I love it.

I have traveled around the USA for many years for my own business and for the company I worked for and was a moderator on a travel and other mix forum for many years.

Nothing like getting paid and making crazy money for enjoying your hobby. Love the thrill of the hunt for that item no one else knows what it is and I find them all of the time.

Dont need to work as the DH makes a nice chunk as district manager for a large corp but I truly enjoy being a risk taker and being darn good at it.

I found this site in 2009 and have been here ever since. I have my original ebay account and 100s of stealth accounts as ebay tried to take my original account down and they ran into a fighter who did nothing wrong and got my account back from the hands of the evil ones. With some help of the AG and BBB of course.

I enjoy helping others become successful and make money.

My kids and DH are my life. Seeing them happy is all that matters.

When the DH is out of town and the kids are asleep I am online until late hours on several forums, checking sales etc.

I am lucky enough to make my own hours, go online for a while, leave and go hunting antiques, come back get back online while doing housework, laundry, prepping dinner etc. On and offline all day and most of the night.

We enjoy the ocean and Disney, Universal, Legoland etc.

As this time in my life and I am in my early 40s I can afford to do what I want when I want and buy anything we need or desire from hard work, determination and the will to succeed at everything I do.

I enjoy this forum and have made many good friends here.

I believe I am one of the top most active oldest vets here other then Aspkin and Greenbean and closing in on 5 years on the forum.

My next goal is to make an ebook for those who want to buy and sell antiques and collectibles and make some very good money doing it.

I own several premium domain names with some awesome names and have not had the time to develop them. Did have a travel website years back and sold it for a nice profit and looking someday to have the time to get my websites up and running that I own.

I put in 14-16 hours a day total on and off and never sit for long. I need to be doing something all of the time. I dont watch much TV and enjoy swimming, BBQing and sitting and relaxing on our caged lanai. With laptop in hand most of the time.

I was an all state basketball player in my home state, played college basketball for 2 years and grew up in a sports nut family and still enjoy most all sports today! College football being my favorite.

I am Sandy D and I and one lucky person and I know it.

Well I'm pretty BORING compared to you lot! I'm a lowly paid public servant by day and mother of two (both under the age of 5 - 24 hours a day!). I have successfully invested in real estate property and I regularly do the Op Shop rounds to see if anything interesting pops up.

I started with eBay for mental stimulation as staying at home with the kids really did my head in and my day job did my head in even more. Besides it gave me the opportunity to rid of stuff around the house and make a bit of $ on the side.

I have recently opened an eBay store and I would like to devote more time to it and I KNOW I can make so much more $$$ but I know that would mean taking a lot of time away from my kids - I won't be sacrificing the time I spend with them when they're still so young.

So I will continue to market research and to slowly expand my eBay store. Maybe when the kids start primary school I will have some more time to ramp sales up but nowhere near Super Sand D's efforts!

Finally, I would like to add that the money I make online - my hubby doesn't have a clue about so I am free to spend it without him knowing and complaining about it. So that's a bonus!

Good luck to you!

Being a Mom is a job in itself and is the most rewarding thing you can ever do.
Managing time is extremely important. Like you my kids come first and foremost and when they are at school or asleep is when I get to work.

If you ever need anything just shoot me a pm.
