What do you mean by 'all the george'? Sorry - just don't follow that.
Side note: Cheap can lead to problems with customers...think about it.

AliExpress IS overpriced in many cases. When doing a search, you can sort the results from PRICE: Low to High. That should quickly help you to determine whether any of the products there are in your price range. Same thing goes for DHgate.
Alibaba is a different story. Prices are not always posted, but the listings are usually for manufacturers selling their products in bulk. By contacting them directly, you can usually find the cheapest price for the products you are looking for. The downside to this is that the manufacturers are not usually interested in selling you 100 pieces of an item.
The thing is, many people make the mistake of thinking they can be the lowest price on eBay simply by using these sites to source their products. But the reality is, you must also be willing to buy in QUANTITY to make that happen.
For example, I'm sure that Amazon and eBay sell THOUSANDS of HDMI cables each day. But the person with the lowest price is probably buying in HUGE quantities, in the tens of thousands, or even HUNDREDS of thousands, of cables. There is no place you can go to order 200 HDMI cables and compete on price. That is why we suggest finding niches. The fact is, rarely can smaller players compete on price.

Do not underestimate customer service and product delivery. You may not make those 1000's of sales, however you can gain some trust and relationship. Many people will spend a bit more if the service is better. Now naturally on something like HDMI cables thats a no go.

The thing is, for small fry like us to try to compete (on popular items) on price is a losing proposition. Big retailers like WalMart can sell their items cheaper than you can BUY them for wholesale. And on eBay, other sellers who have been doing this for a long time have existing supplier relationships and they buy in huge quantities - you can't match that unless you have gobs of money.
Like NewJerseyMax said, compete by offering better customer service, or technical support. Write a better listing. Use allowed HTML and make it pleasing to the eye. Offer a 30 days no questions asked money back guarantee. Write a GREAT title! Don't let any characters in your title go to waste. You don't have to use every singe one of them, but highlight the benefits of YOUR product by using phrases like: - satisfaction guaranteed
- free shipping
- high quality
- fast delivery
I know that many people on this forum are adverse to refunds, but the fact is that few people will ask for a refund unless your item is of poor quality. Yes, scammers are out there, but they are few and far between. And scammers could care less about your refund policy since they are covered by eBay Buyer Protection or the Amazon A-Z Guarantee. Stating "no refunds" these days means nothing. My refund rate is less than 1% and I always offer a 30 day refund. It gives buyers the confidence to buy from you.
Ship fast and ALWAYS answer any buyer questions or complaints! Even if a buyer hates your item, they MAY leave a positive feedback for you if they feel you took care of them. On the other hand, if they feel you tried to cheat them, they will not only leave you negative feedback, they could also complain to eBay. If you get a refund request, ask yourself if you were the buyer, how would you feel? In most cases (where there is no intention of scamming on the buyer's part) refund requests are justified.

agree it is a quantity thing. You can look in to freight shipping to lower prices.
you can find goods with lower MOQ, this is useful for 1st order to test quality and reliability and how the goods will sell.
price is often bumped up high for EMS shipping, for UK you pay £18 for first 500g and then £5 for each 500g after this.

Hi,this is Andy from China, let me tell you something.
For small order, you can buy from aliexpress,dhgate,1K,2K dollars.
For quantity, you can buy from alibaba, most of the seller on alibaba is manufacturer, the price is good.
Now some factory also have aliexpress store,so the price is much lower than before .
Chinese seller on ebay is also ok,but you need to contact them, sometimes they will demand you not buy from ebay, but pay to their paypal account ,to avoid fee.
If any question, you can let me konw .
