I hate this time of year on EBay.

I buy a lot on EBay to resell, and surprise surprise, I appear to have bought a few items from ⊗⊗⊗⊗ listings.

This always happens at this time of year. Other buyers have left negs for the same sellers so the alarm bells are ringing.

I have also had in the last week one parcel that has ended up in Belfast as it apparently contained a "combustable substance" (It doesn't) I have been refunded for this by the seller.

I am also dealing with a seller that sent a parcel using Parcel Force that has gone missing, the tracking only shows up to a Central Hub in late November. I still hope this turns up.

What is bothering me is that I don't really want to file INR's, however it looks like I will have to at some stage. Maybe at the most 2 or 3. I've had no issues all year, but this time of year causes mayhem.

I get very nervous when filing claims, it just doesn't look good does it?

But why are you buying? Is the item as valuable as the Crown Jewels?

Is it worth the hassles of a purchase to go pear-shaped?

Royal Mail are very strict with these I believe.

I buy from online shops or amazon if it is a generic item...I save ebay for stuff I cannot get elsewhere.

High risk item those.

You may snag a bargain or you may snag a shed load of trouble.

Keep in mind, 'claims' ,even if they go in your favour, go against your account.

If claims need to be done, they must be chosen wisely - not frequently and CERTAINLY not patterns

Actually I have some good news.

I think I have just resolved one, I used the "Find Contact Information" option to gain the sellers mobile number and I have just come off the phone to them.

Apparently an issue with the courier and it will go out again today.

RM have gone stupid around this, new laws this Jan for international and then June for UK mainland for items came into force.

Lithium ion batteries can be sent if with a mobile or other electrical device connected or disconnected but has to be declared at post office and a security lithium ion specific warning label has to be put on the package clearly.

Lithium ion batteries on there own are not permitted at all! Though I send them half the time anyways without issues... my reasoning is if a battery is allow to be sent in a package with a phone disconnected, then why not on its own long as its well protected and insulated?

Anyways leaflet here explains what can and what cant be sent anymore...
