vanilla cc approved by paypal, rejected by ebay

So my cc was verified by paypal when I opened my account.
I uploaded my first item to ebay,
and then comes the section where you need to choose a method to
pay fees. I didn't want to link paypal to ebay with my first stealth based
on what I read, so I chose the cc method, and used the same vanilla i used
to open pp account. Its was rejected by ebay. I ended up linking pp to eb. Not a big deal. For the future, which cc should i use with eb, and is it always
that cc gift cards are being rejected by ebay?

Same with Simon gift cards. I have not found a gift card that works on eBay in many years.

If anyone can share a different experience?
If this is the case how can we NOT link paypal to ebay?
With the first item you list they ask you how would you like
to pay your eb/pp fees with? That leaves us with only one option if the cc
is not accepted, which is paying directly
from pp, which means linking pp to eb. Am I correct?

Now a days it is "impossible" to get around not linking PP with eB account.

Even if you pay fees with a CC, how are you going to take payment for the items? Exactly.. ebay makes you add a PP to do that which links you in the end. I believe it was 2007? accounts when they stopped letting most other merchant accounts.
