You need a landline for the physical ring tone - do you have this?

Then you need a dial-up MODEM (56k or so - old school) + software to dial out - do you have this?

You have to have a phone jack and I believe and active LAN line.

Be warned. Dial up is extremely slow. Especially with how complex the webpages are now.

I use to use a third party listing service then just use dial up to answer questions and check messages. It literally would take me 20-30 minutes to answer one or two questions and print 3 to 4 labels.

I can't imagine how long it would take if I tried to list anything.

You should be able to use your smartphone as a dialup modem and it will use the credit on your phone to pay the phone charge.

I don't know who your cell phone service is with but I use mobile hot spot for my older stealth accts. and the new ones are VPN. I like the VPN a lot better but costs $15 per month for each acct. I just write it off as the part of the cost of doing business.

For me the VPN has less chance for me to make a mistake and logging on without changing the IP.

I am old and forgetful and aware I make mistakes so it works for me.

Wow, I pay $15 per acct. per month to 24vc. If you don't mind who is your service with and do they guarantee a fresh unused IP like 24vc does?

I pay $10/Month for 3G Mifi and I run over 15 accounts so mine comes out to less than $1 per account.

I wished I had a clue what you are talking about. mifi means personal wireless router??? $10 per month means mobile hot spot to me? Really MM78 couldn't you have said that because that is no way even close to VPN.

I pay $10 per month for 4 accts. I use mobile 4g hot spot on.

Each VPN Dedicated IP I have costs me $15 per month for 30G which I will never use in 2 life times but that is the lowest plan. Each IP is a different acct.

I prefer VPN as well. Some members have said it is risky. The service I have used has been solid for 3-4 years.

Dial can be an ok option. But you really have to get the basic Auctiva package or maybe another 3rd party service I don't know about to list. Because trying to list using dial up will take days with how complex the pages are. If you just use Dial Up to check messages and maybe print labels it is still time consuming but do able.

Other members have said that certain VPN services have been abused and caused suspensions. Personally, I have not had any problems.

To each their own...whatever works then go for it. I've been using my method for 3 solid months and I love it. For me, can't beat $10/Month for Unlimited 3G and I can take it with me on the go!

Yes I guess that can happen on a shared one but not a Dedicated IP like I have.
