Default Ebay/Paypal Holding Funds After Selling

Hi, I sold an item yesterday and noticed that Paypal had a hold in my funds as if I just started to sell on Ebay. I've been a Above Standard Power Seller and now according to their evaluation report, my account is Below Standard. It doesn't make sense to me that it went down 2 levels instead of just becoming "Standard". I have 100% feedback but I had 4.79 in one of the categories in the Seller Dashboard.

All I want to know is how long will it take for them to STOP holding my funds when I sell an item because it's still happening. The customer service wasn't any help at all because they couldn't give me a specific time frame. They just told me it depends on how many items I sell. It's ridiculous. I definitely want to stop selling on Ebay but I don't know any other sites that would give me sales like I had on Ebay.

There is no exact time frame.

Usually when you get back to being Standard or Above Standard the hold will stay for another couple of weeks and then stop, but there is never an exact answer with eBay or PayPal

Ship well - wait for feedback - build your account. Over time, holds will go but also be aware that holds can come back on too.

Thank you for the replies. Just yesterday when I was trying to relist an unsold item, I got this message:

It looks like you don't have a reimbursement payment method on file with us. To complete your listing, please add a payment method. This payment method will be charged the amount due to eBay when we’ve refunded a buyer for cases brought under our Buyer Protection Policy.

I've been selling over 5 years now and this never happened before. Could this be related to my "Below Standard" status? I am not providing more information when I already describe my items accurately and will certainly not put up with them trying to reimburse the lying buyer with my money. Whatever the case, I know I will definitely not be selling on Ebay anymore after all my active listings end. This is absurd.

Why don't you place a gift cc on file then as payment method?

Could be because if they can this account they want a way to grab the fees from you.

Ok, but what difference would using a gift credit card make? Wouldn't they still take my money?

Has your CC on file either changed or expired? That could affect your status.

But either way, for gods sake just do what they want. If you're pushing Power Level figures through your account just jump through whatever hoops you're being asked to jump through and be quiet about it.

edit - if you've been making more withdrawals lately it could be because you're not keeping enough of a balance in your account to cover a certain % of your sales in case you decided to pull a runner on them.

Has your withdrawal patterns changed?
