Default Aged account abnormal activity

A friend of mine has a 12,000+ feedback account registered since 2007, he produces on average £45,000 sales per annum. There are currently no selling limits on the account.

I am going to take over the account since he is retiring, an accurate estimate of what I will do is £20,000 per week. I will be selling all sorts different items.

Will eBay flag this as suspicious, and take action such as impose limits etc ? what should i expect if anything of them?

Your input will be much appreciated.

Thanks

Your going to be going from less than £1000 a week to around £20,000 a week? Yes that will raise an eye brown.

Also, selling a completely new item that has never been sold on the account at high quantities....you can kiss the account good-bye and OR expect limitations real quick. Also, are your items high risk?

they are home and garden items, not high risk. i have around 10,000 SKUs and can show like 10 available only on eBay.

just read this somewhere: Sudden changes in your selling practices. Selling items in these categories for the first time, rapidly increasing your sales in one of these categories, or switching from one to another (one brand of designer handbag to another, for example) increases your chances of being hit with a selling restriction.

What you need to do is start selling SLOWWWWW and gradually move up from there. Please don't expect to start out selling like a big time seller, your just gonna end up back here asking for help because the account got limited.

So your going to change the account details as well? Pretty much a new identity...20,000 per week in someone else name...insane taxes. Changing the details alone will raise a flag.

What type of experience have you got to do that volume of selling?

If none, then you are asking for trouble.

ebay AND paypal will react at once to different activity on the account.

What are you doing about ANY & ALL of the following:

payment method

IP range

Delivery address

Insurance for you for getting stuck because of inexperience.

Approach this with extreme caution.

I would continue as your friend had been doing and slowly add new products to the mix. Drastic changes in sales and/or inventory is one of the BIGGEST red flags imaginable.

Payment Method is Paypal i will create a new stealth Paypal with accordance to guide.
IP Address: I will reset the router and ensure different IP
Delivery address: I will use a fresh new address never been used before

I have gathered i cant just go putting all the items at once, as this will raise a flag. Any ideas at the rate I should go out, i.e start of with a 1000 and then add 500 every week?

what do you guys suggest?

New stealth guide for an eB account that has already had a PP in the past?...do you see what could go wrong here? Eb/pp will know...and it's only matter of time before the pp could go down.

A new PP attached to an old EB may cause issues in itself.

It would take a very long time to be able to get £20k a week on that new PP.

You would be just as well starting from scratch, as essentially that is what you will be doing with the new PP.

Weve agreed to keep same paypal, but change the password and bank account. I will not change any other details, maybe return address. I will slowly list on all the items, starting with 1000 and adding around 200 every week. Im keeping some of the inventory currently on there, IP will be changed via router.

There should be no problems at all here now...surely?

Don't bet on it.

Any and all changes to an accounts established selling pattern will automatically raise flags.

Changing any registered information including financials also raises flags.

The more you change the more flags will be raised.

Beating e/b and p/p is a long game if you rush things it will get rough.

Even your revised strategy is deeply flawed.

You would be better off going even slower than that at first.

1000 items right off the mark is a large number.

Try to list as many as always used to be listed on it each week, and then slowly increase that number.

Agree with James, 1,000 is WAY too many. Personally I would list 10-20 a week max and later add more per week. Your gonna get slammed at 1,000 per week.
