Default IP Problem

I don't understand this. I found my IP address when I did command prompt and config IP. Now, even though my ebay account is suspended I changed the password, but when I received a notification of password change, the IP address on the bottom of the email was nowhere near the one I received from IP config. I have Verizon DSL and aol.

The ip config address is your physical address. If you are running aol on top of your dsl then ebay only sees your aol ip address. Your computer doesnt see your aol address just your dsl address. So what I'm saying is that ebay just only sees your aol ip address which is good.

Go to whatsmyip.org and see what your ip is, then go and do a command prompt and see if it matches up..

let me know

With all due respect, I don't think that statement is entirely true. eBay grabbed my modem IP when I changed passwords and sent the IP to me in an email. I was running the AOL browser at the time. Go figure?!?!

Well Ruby thats simple. The Ip ebay showed you is either the aol ip or your cable modem ip. Cut the aol browser out and just use your cable modem and do a ip check and whatever it says then its your cable modem ip.

Are we doing technical support now?

I assure you my good man that it is possible and I followed the method perfectly. YOU should change your password through AOL browser and then look at the email alert they send you. See if YOUR ip is masked or not. Then report back.

I did change my ebay password and I saved the IP address. It is different from when I use command prompt. Then I went to whatsmyip.org, and that is different from the two previous.
