I recommend whatever works for people, some tether, some use dongles, MIFI's. What works for 1 person may not work for another. What it comes down too is what kind of IP range you can get with whatever device/service your with. Some people still prefer Dialup. Three factors are at play:
1. Location
2. Service Provider
3. Device

Me personally use a "modified" Verizon MIFI2200 3G which is a bit faster than Dialup and the IP range is massive.
