Default Upgrading to business account?

What are the pros and cons of upgrading to a business account on ebay? Also at what point during the process do you need to provide your business info? Thanks

Speaking as someone registered as a business seller on Ebay UK you miss out on all the free listing days and other promotions which are not available to business sellers.

The only "business info" I was ever asked to provide was the name of my business (what an American would call a DBA) and to indicate the type of business from a drop down list.

If you are an EU based seller and you list on an EU site you are obliged to put your contact info (Physical Address/phone #) at the bottom of the listing but this is not a requirement on the US site.

In Europe there is a stupid law which states if you sell online you are required to make publicly available the PHYSICAL address from which you trade. Many of us who trade from home and dont want our address on the internet use a "virtual office" which gives us a street address.

If you are a stealth eBayer in the U.S. Meaning you aren't providing tax ID to get above the sales threshold. Really Zero difference. In general there is pretty much Zero difference I know of in the U.S.

Problem with this is that if the virtual office is well publicized on the Net, manual review of the account will find it - prob not best idea...

Well since most businesses are based in an office, unit or warehouse somewhere then the virtual office just comes up in searches as a block of offices in a city centre.

Virtual offices in the UK offer a range of services such as mail and freight forwarding, taking phone messages, and also offer "hot" desks for people who want to come in on an occasional basis and use wifi etc. The bigger ones have meeting and conference rooms for rent.

Therefore they are a legitimate business address which you can put on your business cards.
