Default First time I've encounter this issue.....

Buyer filed a claim, says he did not receive. Tracking acknowledges it was delivered and he acknowledges the tracking. I assume eBay will side with him.

If you've encountered this, how have you handled?

If the tracking info shows that the item was delivered to the buyer's address (the one he has on file with Ebay), Ebay will side with you and will reject his claim. Got to deal with this on Ebay Canada and that's what happened. Unless ebay US will handle this differently, you do not have to worry about this if you have proof of deliery, and if you shipped to the buyer's crrect address.

If they side with me..... Can the buyer still leave negative feedback?

Yes they can still leave a neg.

Even if you refunded them they can still leave a neg

Yes, he still can do.
Some stupid buyers will get EVERYthing from you and from Ebay, and they're still unhappy and leave Neg.
When I had to deal with this kind of buyers, I offer them a small anount compensation (say like 5% of the item's price) if they'll not leave me a neg. feedback. This worked for me everytime.
It depends on how the account is important and how important to you to keep it clean.

if you win this case and the buyer leaves a negative feedback it will be removed instantly, happened to me a week ago.

False. It may happened to you, but it's not usual AT ALL.

I had the same, buyer claimed, they received an empty package. It was $35, I had to just let go, and refunded him. The buyer was very abusive, threatening and disrespectful.

had one of these not too long ago, i put the detail to ebay like it is. I followed your bs rules and did what i was suppose to do as a seller and they ( ebay ) ended up refund the buyer out of pocket.

when I have buyers like this I try to trap the buyer by making them say something like "if you don't refund me I'll leave neg feedback". Then if they do leave neg feedback ebay will remove it as feedback manipulation
