if you are a buyer then yes they will restrict your buying for a week first and then 30 days etc..

Yes, be-careful especially on a new account

In the past I think that is what flagged one of my accounts I can't be certain , but whenever a case is open it doesn't look to good

And again on newer accounts under 6 months old I would not open too many

Perhaps set up your selling preferences to be more strict.
I don't allow for more than 2 strikes in a month.

Ok I opened 2 unpaid buyer cases against 2 different sellers during the last 2 weeks, so if this problem comes up again, I shouldn't open another case ?

yes you should always open cases for non payment, that is what it is there for.

The buyer is the one who will get the restrictions .

actually....... be aware of this unpaid items are often used by Sellers who are schill bidders.

meaning people win their own auctions to bump prices then open unpaid item cases when they win their own auctions to get fees back.

this will eventually launch a ebay investigation.... dont ask me how I know

You guys should do unpaid item assistant. It's the best thing in the world. It opens up unpaid item case in two days (if u set it up for 2 days, that's the minimum), and then it automatically closes in 4 days if buyer doesn't pay. eBay would normally send polite messages to buyers to pay, so you don't have to do it. It gets rid of the stress and having to remember to get your final value fee back.

On one of my accounts I have 26 unpaid items closed without me ever having to look at anything. Highly recommended.

I would be very careful with this. people manipulate the system and make thousands from bumping auctions, often times they just relist and get the fees back. this makes ebay mad cause you are taking back fees they just had and they want to know WHY?

I had issues with the unpaid assistant in the past and never recommend or use it.

just be careful enough cases will get you investigated and possibly banned.

interesting, how about having too many open cancel transaction cases ?
regardless whether it is the buyer or the seller opening the case, i think this might get your account limited. Anyone know ?

yes that will get you looked at too.

anything that takes fees out of ebays pockets are going to be reviewed.

sure some have gotten away with alot but its just a matter of time..

if something doesnt add up or make sense, ebay could review it.

I can see Keepongoing's point, but if I am not getting paid, then I am getting my seller fees back.

Dont know WHERE or WHY shill bidding came to it.

This post is about him claiming his fees back for non paying bidders.

Am I reading this correctly? Unpaid item cases would affect the seller? Wtf?

no they wont, only if you are a buyer it will effect you.
However opening to many cancellation requests might.

You have no control over who pays and who does not, so why would that have a negative impact on you as a seller?

I have never had it affect me. I think KeepOnGoing is just saying that too many "unpaid item cases" or "cancel transaction requests" will cause EB to raise a brow in suspicion of shrill bidding. And in essence, if someone was shrill bidding, this is the method they would use to not pay for the item.

Not saying that I would ever shill bid, but I would at least carry through the transaction to not look suspicious.

Post Re: Too many open unpaid buyer cases!

Yeah im not schill bidding or manipulating my auction in anyway at all, just an honest seller here that happen to run into few buyers who would not pay for my items after they had won the auction leading me to open several unpaid buyer cases against those buyers in the last few weeks.

My only concern was would eBay limit or restrict my account because of it, that's all.

I had a buyer who hadn't paid get very heated that I opened up a case on them after a few days. I told them it's done by eBay and it's highlighted the terms of my auction. I told them that there's no reason to be offended I just don't want to pay fees on items that are never paid for. The buyer said "I'm not offended - I'm pissed" in all capitals. I can't believe some buyers, I just wanted to tell them to fck off. Needless to say they're blocked from buying from me.
