ACH deposit into USA bank

If an incoming ACH deposit has the account number with trailing/extra digits, will the ACH deposit still process at a bank or credit union? Has any of you tested?

For example, for a deposit into account 123456789 and the ACH entry has bank account # as 1234567890002, with the extra "0002" -- note --

information, will this still post? Will any banking system truncate the extra digits and process the ACH deposit as valid? This would save you a lot of efforts with multiple PayPal accounts....

It's mostly for credit unions. Mine add a C1 S1 do differentiate between checking and savings. If you have a bank that you have multiple accounts on just see if you have one main account number but different last few digits
