Default Is a credit card needed

I went over my brothers place today to create a backup account (just in case I do get suspended). I created the account following eBay Stealth. Neither eBay or paypal asked me for a credit card #. I used a different bank account to confirm my paypal account. I clicked on sell on ebay and went through the steps to list but didnt submit the listing because I want to let the account sit for at least a month and then if I do get suspended I will start using it. Is a credit card even required to sell on eBay? Do they ask for this info when you actually click list on the last step of listing an item?

yes once u get to the end of the listing it will ask for a credit card or a paypal account which if u use paypal it will still ask for a credit card on paypal to be able to list.

Also they will make u verfiy your phone before u can sale as well.

Phones not a problem since I used a diff number on the new account. Can you use a different credit card # that has not been used yet or is the gift card the only recommended option?

That is not true fully. If you choose paypal, you will not be asked by paypal to confirm credit card. But make sure you have a bank account attached to paypal before doing so. A credit card on paypal is only neccesarry if you want to remove limits. If you are starting slow and want to break it in for the first month or 2, there is no need to add a credit card as long as not more than $500 is being taken out. This is an advantage as if you do get booted, you didn't waste a CC.

Does the same limit removal apply to paypal accounts verified with bank accounts? or will I see need a credit card no matter what if I plan to start selling with decent transactions?

In other words same question as the original poster, can I use a valid bank account to remove any limits or do we need a credit card no matter what?

Thanks

Why not ask the source?

Code:
Google: site:paypal.com lift limit
If you're in the UK, add UK (eg. site:paypal.com lift UK limit), if you're in the US, add U.S.
Had to put that in code tags due to the damn smiley faces.
