Default paypal lifting withdrawal limit

hey guys, please help me out
I bought a gift card from the store and paypal charged it 1.95 so they can confirm. The problem is when i registered the card on the giftmall website, i entered a random phone number, and the only way to view my account to see the 4-digit paypal code is to enter my phone number as my password. thats the only way, i have called customer service and they will not tell me the 4-digit code unless i give them the correct phone number, which i dont remember
so paypal is now waiting for me to give them the code, which i dont have.
so i thought "oh, thats easy, i will just add another card to paypal and have them charge it $1.95"
except that it didnt work. i bought an identical card from the store and when i tried to charge 1.95 to the new card it says "we cannot send the 4-digit code to that card, please try another card"
what should i do now?

Try Hypnosis?

Probably going to have to move on, and next time remember that phone #...check and see if they have one of those "forgot the phone number?" things like they do for users and passwords to send to your email...

Always write down everything...everything...you never know when you'll need it

Most likely you have to confirm the first one before you can do it again...did you get an email with the info you registered that would have the phone #???

MOBSTER, you don't list where you live, but I would say go with what Here We Go Again recommends in Post # 4, here.
Simon cards still seems to be working for some people.

Here's ebayhateluv's recommendation.

MOBSTER.....
Please at least list the country you are located.
You can do this in the USER CP of this forum.
That way we will know how to help you.
Credit Card issues differ from country to country.
************************************************** **********

FACT: I am based inside the USA.

I use 3 different card styles:
1 - DeluxeCard
.......I use this one to set up new accounts.
2 - The gold/silver ones from my Local Wal-Mart.
.......I use these to pay my eBay fees.
.......I use a new card for each account AFTER I load the correct user information on the card online. These are NOT GreenDot cards.
.......I do NOT use GreenDot cards
3 - Gift2Go - Visa Gift Cards
.......I use these to pay my eBay fees.
.......These are the yellow ones from my local Walgreens.
.......For some weird reason I can buy these at my local store with a credit card where I have to use cash at Wal-Mart.
.......I use these to pay my eBay fees.
.......I use a new card for each account AFTER I load the correct user information on the card online.

I have chosen to not use the Simon Cards.
Why you ask?..... Because if a account goes down I can just take the left over plastic card to the store and burn the amount on stuff I need at home.

For each card I use I load the eBay/Paypal account holders information onto that card.
I use a Sharpie and write the eBay ID on the card.
I ONLY use card "A" for eBay/Paypal account "A".
I ONLY use card "B" for eBay/Paypal account "B".
I ONLY use card "C" for eBay/Paypal account "C".
And on and on and on......

First SIX digits to be exact. Its called a BIN and is what determines the bank, where, what type of CC (Classic, Platinum,Signature) and some other information.

I don't think so, Tim.

Quote:
Although both are offered by the same company (Green Dot), they are financed by different banks and therefore have slightly different terms. In my opinion, the Wal-Mart MoneyCard is superior to the GreenDot Visa/Mastercard in several ways as revealed by research into the Cardholder Agreements and Schedule of Fees. I will state the most significant advantages here:

1. The Wal-Mart MoneyCard is "FREE" to reload when you cash a check at Wal-Mart and load cash onto the card at the time of check cashing. (The fee to cash a check at Wal-Mart is always $3 or less!)

2. The Wal-Mart MoneyCard is "FREE" of monthly fees if you load at least $1,000 or more in a one month period.

3. The Wal-Mart MoneyCard is "FREE" of monthly fees if you use Direct Deposit and have your weekly/biweekly/monthly employment/disability checks deposited directly into your Wal-Mart MoneyCard account.

-Here's a statement taken from an online promotional news article for Wal-Mart MoneyCard:

*****Carrying the Visa logo, it is accepted anywhere that Visa is accepted, allowing customers to pay bills, sign up for direct deposit and shop online. There is a $4.94 monthly fee, which is waived when $1,000 or more is loaded in one calendar month or the cardholder takes advantage of direct deposit. It requires no credit check or checking account, eliminating some of the barriers non-bankers shy away from.*****

In summary, the Wal-Mart MoneyCard is far superior to the GreenDot Visa/Mastercard in many ways, such as those listed above and more, but in order for you to make an educated decision based on your individual needs, you must read the Cardholder Agreements for both cards before making a decision. I hope this helps!

You are 1000% INCORRECT.
Wal-Mart does sell GreenDot re-loadable credit cards.
They also sell Non-Reloadable Visa Gift cards.
These come in cardboard slips and are usually located with the impulse items at the checkout line.
They are usually near the restaurant and iTunes gift cards.
They are NOT GreenDot cards.

Ahhhh... I see.

HWGA, I was a little confused because the link you provided in Post # 11, above, showed "Green Dot | Wal-Mart Visa Gift Card :: Home" in the title bar.
However, reading the FAQ page of the link you provided states:
Quote:
Can I reload my Gift Card?

No. Your Gift Card is not reloadable. If you want a reloadable Card, you may consider a Wal-Mart MoneyCard. You can learn more about the MoneyCard and find a purchase location near you by visiting www.walmartmoneycard.com.
Yep, two completely different cards. Thanks for clearing up the confusion.

YES they are. IF you look at the back of the Walmart card its says ' GREEN DOT FINICIAL"

So basically the walmart card is just a green dot card repackaged

imthatguy......

Can you NOT see that there are TWO different styles of Wal-Mart Gift Cards?
Yes there is a GREENDOT card and then there is a VISA Gift Card.
That makes 2 different cards.
I do not care what the header of the web page says.
I KNOW what I buy at Wal-Mart and it is NOT a GreenDot Card.

You're wrong, imthatguy

There are two different cards.
Wal-Mart Visa Gift Card
At the bottom of the page, you can read:
Quote:
This Card is issued by GE Money Bank, member FDIC, pursuant to a license from Visa, U.S.A. Inc. © 2003-2007 Wal-Mart All rights reserved.
No GreenDot association/logo. For all we know, the web designer could have just screwed up using a template, or something.

and

Wal-Mart MoneyCard
At the bottom of the page, you can read:
Quote:
This Card is issued by GE Money Bank, member FDIC, pursuant to a license from Visa U.S.A., Inc. Additional services provided by Green Dot Corporation. The use of this Card is subject to the terms of your Cardholder Agreement.
See the GreenDot logo in the bottom right corner?

If you want to argue further, please back it up with facts.

What? provencal....... That makes NO sense what so ever.

Provençal |ˌprävənˈsäl; ˌprōvən-; ˌprōˌvä n-|
adjective
of, relating to, or denoting Provence or its people or language.
noun
1 a native or inhabitant of Provence.
2 the Romance language of Provence.
Provençal is closely related to French, Italian, and Catalan; it is sometimes called langue d'oc (or Occitan), though strictly speaking it is one dialect of this. In the 12th–14th centuries it was the language of the troubadours and cultured speakers of southern France, but the spread of the northern dialects of French led to its decline.
ORIGIN French, from Latin provincialis ‘provincial.’

Provence |prōˈväns|
a former province of southeastern France, on the Mediterranean coast, east of the Rhône River. It is now part of the region of Provence–Alpes–Côte d'Azur.
ORIGIN from Latin provincia ‘province,’ a colloquial name for southern Gaul, the first Roman province to be established outside Italy.
