Default Can you link a 3rd party website in eBay messages?

A customer is having an issue with a product and I want to send them a link addressing the issue from the manufacturer website. Is this allowed?

I know on Amazon you would get a policy violation for sending someone out side of amazon.

I found the same issue with eBay. I got around it by sending them a link like this (using Guess as an example) :

http://shop.guess. com/en/Catalog/View/M42H35W60Y0

I put a space between the lettering (guess. com) and ask my the purchaser to copy/paste the above link. 9/10 they understand there shouldn't be a space at .com and ebay bots can't detect. Hope this helps you out.

If eB catches on to you, you can be hit with ebay fee circumvention...and suspension. Ultimately choice is yours...I wouldn't keep on doing this on the eb messaging platform...stick to e-mails

Ive done this many times, nothing ever happens. Sending email addresses does raise an alert though, so if website was an issue that should also raise a flag.

Keep in mind, if you send them off to websites which sell things, they will take action if your message implies your trying to sell outside ebay.

You will be ok as long as you don't try to send them to a sales page. Manufacturers website should be fine. I send people to usps.com, ups.com all the time, no problem.
