Paypal Minor Name Change Email

I have just performed a successful minor name change on Paypal.

Never had any withdrawal issues.

And also received this email copied and pasted exactly.

Interested to hear everyone's thoughts.

New have received your request to correct the name on your account. Your name has been updated as you requested.

To successfully add or withdraw funds to or from your PayPal account balance, the name on your PayPal account must exactly match the name your bank has on file. If these names are not the same, the transfer may fail. As your name has now been changed on your PayPal Account, your bank information must be updated as well.

To update the name in your bank account details on your PayPal account, it will be necessary for you to remove your bank account registration, and then add it to the PayPal system. Please note that if your bank account information is not accurate and you attempt a withdrawal from your PayPal account, the withdrawal may fail. The funds will be returned to your PayPal account and you may incur a fee.

Out of question, what was the reason for the change?

Just wanted to make it a little less similar to another account.

It wasn't necessary really, but I wanted to do it.

I had a typo while creating a stealth account, one name was off by an letter from that in eBay. I requested change of name and it worked fine.

Lost my eBay for unrelated reasons, but Paypal is still up and running.

I performed this procedure before successfully on another account and received a similar email without the Bank Account reference.

I was under the impression if a few changes are made this procedure was automated.

Not concerned as this is a rarely used account if I'm honest.

If you notice (in the US anyway) every withdrawal to a bank account carried the same dire warning about names matching exactly before you hit Submit. It all depends on whether your bank allows mismatches which of course we all know going in and choose accordingly. So I would take that with a grain of salt. Again speaking for US transfers to bank.

Never change your name that's a auto red flag I am surprise they did not limit your account after trying to withdraw. The only thing you need to change is the email or password and security question, a name change seems to risky..

Minor name changes such as in my case are fine.

No ID has been requested.

This is a known facility in Paypal and is not usually a permanent Limiting Action.

I have performed one or two minor name changes over the last few days.

Usually I hear something within 24 hours.

On one account it is 3 days and counting.

Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing similar delays?

3 days...no experience here but hoping that no issues for you.

Not a lot of users will risk doing name alterations.

Hoping all goes well for you in regards to these.

I have performed 2 successfully already.

It is only a Typo, with one Letter difference.
