Default Confim Identity near $1000aud

Hi, I created a few stealth accounts in au
all good, i have been asked to confirm identity because my balance is reaching 1000aud in paypal, i have submited the docs and access as been restored.

what is next? what amount limit should i keep it under before they limit me with the next stage eg questionair about my business, bank statement etc..?

The reason i am asking this is, i know that the next limit will be a question air that i need to submit to paypal on how i run my business and inventory. but i dont know what will raise this flag so i want to be prepared.

In Europe there is a 5000 Euro limit at which you have to provide documentary evidence of identity. I went through that some time ago. Twice since I have had an email from Paypal asking me to provide some "business information" and/or add a card to establish my identity. Since you cannot add Visa cards more than once and I was short of cards at the time I simply rang Paypal and explained I had no more cards to add. I then got an email telling me I had safisfied their conditions.

In my experience there is no "set" amount after you have cleared the first anti-money laundering hurdle. Paypal can ask you to confirm your identity or provide documentation at any time for any reason. I think it depends much upon what you sell and how risky (or otherwise) they perceive that to be. I sell mostly antique vintage items in the $50-$1400 price range - no designer or brand named new goods. My price range on Ebay is around $50-$100. Paypal dont see that as very risky.

yeah i dont know
i just sell one type item, i guess i just have to see
sometimes i know they ask for bank statements and how i operate business but that is easy to pass limitations because you get a warning first.
thanks for your help

generally the 1000usd confimation idenity is the last major limit that paypal will do on an account?

@PJ.

the $1000 Confirm ID thing has nothing to do with paypal. Paypal is required by government to collect ID for accounts with $1000.

Once you submit ID for this. It doesn't mean your account is stronger. It just means that you can have over $1000 in your account.

Paypal do not give you warning when asking for business info. That has nothing to do with amount of money in your account. That is to do with paypal being suspicious of your activities. once paypal is suspicious. there is No warning. they can limit you for any reason.

Basically paypal can ask you for business info without warning if....

- you got a chargeback/complaint/dispute
- you sell too many items too fast
- you got negative review on ebay
- you did something like transfer large amounts of money in and out of paypal in a short amount of time
- they suspect you sell counterfeit items
- they suspect you sell something that isn't allowed on paypal like adult services or drugs.

That is just some. there is probably 20 more on the list. if you do any of these things. they will limit you and ask for business info. The best thing you can do is try your best to be able to give paypal this info.

If your volume is that high, you run a good chance of being asked for business info again.

I got my account (x2) over $750 and had paypal ask for confirmation of ID
That was over 12 months ago.
Both accounts are still going, the only thing i have to skip the annoying screen asking me to confirm ID every time i log in.

I just try to keep my accounts under $500 now.
