Angry Using ebay/paypal postage printing

So im not sure if I am the only one with this issue. I want to print Royal Mail postage labels using ebay/Paypal. However when I purchase it:

1. I have to print another A4 page called certificate of posting... that needs to be signed/dated/stamped by the staff at the post office, in case the item gets lost in the post and I need to file compensation. Is this really true?, considering if the item isnt posted, ebay dont care about this, they want the proof of postage receipt, so more papers/receipts to hold on to.

2. Is there a way to print labels on to avery code format L7169, which is 4 labels per A4 page, rather than the format they provide which is half of an A4 page (other than changing page size to A6 - not sure how well that works but thats what I saw on another post).

3. If I were to get a dymo label printer will this not work?

It just seems like a system which is supposed to make life easier, but makes it more complicated.

1. It is best to contact eBay, it seems.

2. Yes, it is possible to use other formats. When you receive the .pdf file from eBay with the postage and both addresses on it, you can choose the labels size in Acrobat Reader and print to it.

3. It will work with DYMO LabelWriter 4XL as this is the only model that prints using 104 x 159 mm labels. Practice has shown that only this size allows you to have legible shipping labels when printing directly from eBay.

1. Thanks for that answer - did call ebay who told me "no you cannot select label size, it will print on an A4 page and cannot be changed".

2. This is why I rather use this forum because this community are not just a bunch of stealth users, but rather a state of the art ebay support system, Aspkin might want to affiliate with ebay so their staff get the right training before answering those phone calls!

3. In 2 minds whether to invest big and get 4XL OR stick with cheap and cheerful and get the normal dymo :S

Can you confirm if the DYMO supports 3rd party labels or does it HAVE to be Dymo branded?

Thanks.

Well, you can always print other sizes with a 4XL. A different approach would be to buy a used one on eBay. There is a cash-back campaign going on right now, it is worth checking out (just go to our web site).

Our printers do not support third-party labels, only genuine DYMO ones.

Thanks for that, I have just purchased 2 x 4XL's from Amazon. Hoping cashback will go through without any problems when I submit it.

Also the 4XL will support the smaller labels? I dont always have to keep printing 10cm wide labels right?

Thanks again!

Thank you for your trust, we value that a lot.

Yes, 4XL does print using smaller labels. You can absolutely any size with it. Just make sure you select the right one in the software. Also, please use the latest version of DYMO Label (8.5.1 at the time of writing).

To install, save the file, run it and connect the printer directly after the installation. If questions come up, feel fring to ring us on 020 3564 8354.
