EIN Request - When safe to add?

How many hours should one wait to add a newly created EIN? I've seen some say you could do it minutes/handful of hours later, where some say they wait 12/24 hours. What's some recent experience with this?

When I'm not sure how many hours should I wait, I wait 24 hours not to risk. If you can wait, better wait.

I always do it immediately. Paypal waits awhile to verify it I believe. I have always made an ein and immediately added it with no issues.

Yep I add it right away as well without problems.

I just went ahead and added it an hour or so after it making it. It seems to have worked. (knock on wood) It's my fault forgetting to do it earlier as I had it on my to-do-list but life got in the way for a few days and I completely forgot about it. (oops)

Paypal loves security info so makes sense to add it when you have it....no need to necessarily wait

You can not add an EIN until the info is available.

Do you even know how long that takes?

The official time, or the time it states on the Website to wait if you are using it for electronic verification is about 4 weeks I think, I haven't made one in a while but it's definitely not hours 3-4 weeks

Your able to use it to open a Bank Account for your Business immediately , it states this right on there site

I think Amazon asks if the EIN is at least 14 days old , because it takes time for it to update in there system it's not minutes or hours

That being said, I have added an EIN a few days after making one in paypal and things have been fine over a year and a half later

But this is something you should plan ahead and give yourself at least a month cushion to be absolutely safe
