Default Simple Question on Echecks

Hey so you all (most of you) know E-checks as I do. One got sent to my bank because of ebay fees being not paid. I know under manual review they can limit you. Its wasn't that big of a deal for the account, I just am curious at how long would you say I have till I'd get limited with Paypal? Beyond the fact nothing is certain with either Ebay/Paypal....would I be looking at couple days to a week? MC999 usually ban fast but since its manual...

Like I said its not life or death if this account gets the hammer BUT I will consider paying fees only IF its not about to just get limited.

How long until your account is limited? That depends on if/when you do something suspicious. The e-check itself isn't going to cause a limitation; something you do that draws Paypal attention (and thus bringing on a manual review) is what would lead to limitation. Just make sure it doesn't happen again and be careful with that account.

You should pay your fees regardless of what happens with the account though. As horrible as Ebay/Paypal are, you did use their services so pay your fees.

I agree with plumsake. I have had EB send an echeck to my accounts because I messed up on how much I withdrew. (I usually leave enough in for fees and refunds). The echeck always clears through my bank without issue and without checking name on PP vs name on bank.

Yea well karma hit me already.
When they sent the echeck it hit my bank and they charged my 36 bucks for it bouncing (the fees were from ebay were $40)..the irony.
When I FIRST started stealth I had used my middle name as me and verified it..everything ran smooth for the first month until I had a echeck for $15 hit my bank and they said my actions caused "suspicious activity" and banned me. I know I was banned for the linkage of my name but ever since then I try to avoid echecks at all costs.

How do we exactly know they can see the name? I mean can they see this only during a echeck? Why are they able to see the name on the bank account, is this not confidential? (obviously it isn't)

Thanks for the responses. I guess I will pay fees and operate like normal. Its a 2 month old account with 10/1000 but...increases could be in the near future so why not. It has decent feedback (12) and sales.

Thats exactly what had happened to me. I usually leave enough but it happens...especially if you operate 20+ stealth (like i do). Just makes you that much more alert, cause they will be.

I'm not 100% sure on this, but I believe it's similar to how when you look at your bank statement after making a purchase and it shows the name of the merchant you just paid. Like "Chase credit card payment12324".

When you send an echeck, or do anything where you use your bank as the funding source, I believe that Paypal would see something similar like "YourNameOnTheBankAccount paypal payment1234".

They definitely can't see the name during normal circumstances though. That's why Paypal (and any other website when adding an external bank account) requires you to confirm the bank account is really yours by doing trial deposits or giving your log in info.

Why don't you think of paying the fees yourself with a VCC/

That way you never allow paypal to touch your own money.

BTW I just got the email from Ebay about paying the feels or "might suffer temp. suspension until fees are paid" .. In other words I most likely won't be getting limited. Expect the worst, hope for the best.
