Default Questions about the 21 day hold on non ebay payments

I was wondering has this happened to many of you ?

The reason for me was I was sent a payment of £35 then tried to spend £10 the warning came up then. I had not had any other payments this was the first.
Maybe its best to wait and make some eBay sales first before spending.

Can happen to any account at any time.

Usually for off eBay transactions it does not happen though

Sometimes if your account isn't 100% verified, they also impose the 21 day hold. Typically if you had a phone # / verify it they remove it

This is true. Many of my accounts are 100% verified and still have holds.

A 21 day hold isn't uncommon, just ship the item out as soon as possible to get your money faster.

I have yet to have holds with anything off eBay... though my accounts are always verified and confirmed before I start working with them.

Same here, never had an off eBay transaction Placed on Hold, maybe they are taking too many, too high of payments right away triggering them Holds

All up, I have had 2 holds out of over 200 transactions for non-ebay transactions.

One was an incorrect email address.

The other was the buyer's account being flagged.

Like aspkin, I only use verify & confirmed accounts for business.

oh, and the above were one each for paypal USA & paypal UK.

For the USA, which is more relevance for you, working land line phone number on that account from creation.

I have never seen a notice sent out like this. But up to 21 day hold or confirmation of delivery has been standard for like 5 years now on new PayPal Selling Accounts. It is just something you have to deal with. Long time ago PayPal put something on one of my account called a "Rolling Reserve" they held 10% of all payments I received on a 30 day cycle.

PayPal message

All new accounts have a 21 day hold for the first 90 days assuming there are no issues.

A way to drasticly cut that 21 days down is to use eBay shipping this way they know that the item was shipped because they have the tracking number sent to them directly from the USPS (in the US what ever in yor country) so you can't lie.

Use Priority Mail so it gets deliver in two days. Once the item is delivered your money will be released within 72 hours.

So we just cut the 21 days down to 5.

If your sale DID NOT come from eBay as OP states you can do the same through PayPal. NEVER ship anything outside of PayPal or eBay as you will wait the 21 days and get scammed by the buyer because they know they can have what ever you sent them for free for 21 days.

Guys, this is not good. ALL my new accounts (all stealth, being setup properly, exactly like I have in the past without issue) all have this hold. This is absolutely ridiculous. These are NON EBAY payments people, payments through our actual websites etc.

What can we do?

I have accounts I made October 17 using Textplus with no holds from transactions outside of eBay

I'll never make my first transaction off eBay and never the first month, I'll usually sell dollar store items the first 3 months on eBay have holds on all them, but the second month like 6 weeks,in I'll make my first paypal transaction and never had one hold
