All new accounts created asking to verify phone just to add bank? True or not?
I have created many new accounts and they are all requesting a phone call. Is it only me or no?
Sorry if I created a double topic, please delete the other one.

Not true.
Hasn't happened to me a single time and I create multiple accounts every single day.
Must be something in the way youre doing things...

What bank was this for?
I'm starting to suspect this is another one of Paypal's not-so-genius ideas to weed out stealthers. The only time I get this error is when trying to add a "lesser" bank commonly used by stealthers (such as GMAC), but not with "real" banks such as BoA, Chase, WF etc.
On one particular account where I got that message for trying to add a lesser bank (GMAC), I went back to the Paypal homepage, then immediately tried adding a real bank (Citi) and didn't get the phone verification message. This was on an account created in a portable browser within a new user account, with cookies intact.
One instance certainly isn't enough to prove anything, but I found that to be interesting.

Well, that answers my (GMAC) VBA verify block now when I attempt to add bank as usual.
Thanks for the input, I was going crazy over here thinking Id done something wrong. Quote:

All the GMAC I added got phone verification, PNC and Wells Fargo too but not all of them.
wondering if I can add the same bank account number on another PayPal since the bank account didn't really add on to the first one because of phone verification?

I would for sure not add a number that you entered anywhere else.....IMO, "climbing in a barrel and heading for the falls" to do that.....

recently when creating accounts i am getting asked twice for phone verification, one when creating account, another when listing first item as usual. Also being asked when sending payments sometimes. After the second verification I dont respond, just ignore it until the next day when it goes away

I think someone mentioned that you get that message because the number you have used has been used by someone else, where did you get it?

It seems like GMAC bank may be a part of the problem. PNC and Wells-Fargo too. But - an this is JUST MY GUESS - PayPal might be using some sort of a "point system" that triggers the phone verification request. For instance, a weaker bank could be a few points, like maybe 3. Other factors could also be worth 1-3 points, and it you go over 10 points, then they ask for the phone verification.
So, it could be a combination of things. What bank was the VCC or gift card from? That could be a part of it also. Like many people in stealth use GMAC as mentioned above. And many use Vanilla Visa Gift Cards or HDFC VCC's.
May I ask, for those of you having this issue, what type of credit card was used?
Other possible things:
Who is the phone provider?
Are you using a VPS or VPN to access your accounts?
What is the ISP?
I'm just throwing some ideas out there.

Tracfones on sale at dollar general for $5 seems to solve this phone verification.. Includes 20 free minutes so it's useful for these texts or phones calls.

4-5 Instances confirmed. At first I thought it was a fluke, but it's happening way too often now.
I can confirm this activity as well. I kept getting "Security Check" for Phone Verification for each and every account I tried to add a VBA. Transaction amount doesn't matter.. Either you pay the extra funds for a Tracfone on file and put it at the beginning of account creation and keep access to it, or you're pretty much screwed. You can't add it later otherwise you'll get a notification that it doesn't match your name, but even then doing this properly, you've got a 50/50 chance of saving your funds.
Shame on you Paypal. Good luck stealthers.

Hasn't happened to me as of yet. Keep in mind creating accounts now your swimming with the sharks...
Its not the best time to create accounts, obviously if your 100% confident in your stealth practices and you know what your doing this doesn't necessarily apply but I'd recommend waiting till Feburary and create a bunch of accounts then. The security for both eBay and Paypal will be much less active.

I would suggest creating Paypals now, then Ebays after xmas/new year, then when you come to list you have a somewhat aged Paypal account ready to go
