I'm in the same situation as wi11l33...
I have already added a simon "gift card" to my paypal profile and set it as my primary credit card, with the intention of using that to pay fees. I bought a simon "gift account", thinking that I'd be able to register that "account", as my bank account, and become verified.
I bought the "gift account" using my own real info, but "gifted" it to the paypal accounts persona. I thought from reading on here, that since the "gift account" allowed you to a) enter your address, and b) check deposits to it (allowing it to get an expuse#), that it was suitable to be given as a bank account on paypal. I may have absolutely misunderstood all of it. I liked the thought of the simon gift account as my bank account, because I could set it up without any info of my choosing as the "recipient".
On wamus site, they ask for my ssn, drivers Id, etc. to apply for a free checking account. Either that is not the option I'm looking for, or I'm misunderstanding what information will be released to paypal, when I enter that account as the bank account in my paypal profile. Will they only look at the account number/routing number, and not be made aware of my other personal info?
I'm really looking for a way to set up an account without giving paypal access to my real name, address, SSN, drivers ID, etc. Is that still possible using the wamu account? Thanks for your help
