Default low delivery time performance

It is my first year on amazon. I got bad delivery time in the past week of around 93.5% which placed my account in poor health. Anyone else has had the same issue?
Is it a common holiday weather/season delays? I shipped all packages in the right time frame. My seller performance have been very good so far.

I normally have nearly flawless shipping times, but my best amazon account fell below 95%. The USPS is extra horrific this year

I had no issues THIS YEAR, but LAST YEAR nearly KILLED ME! My USPS sorting center started taking a week to 10 days to get packages out:

MY LOCAL POST OFFICE------>SORTING CENTER------>DESTINATION SORTING CENTER------>DESTINATION POST OFFICE

It was not just me, other people I know who use my same post office and sell online were complaining about the same thing. It happened after our old sorting center was closed and merged with another sorting center. But, of course, eBay and Amazon could care less that it shows you shipped on time. Sellers are UNFAIRLY held accountable for any USPS delays. Not that anything about eBay, Amazon or life in general is FAIR. But it SUCKS!

I was dealing with angry customers (just a few, most were patient) and it even cost me TRS status on a couple of accounts. I got TRS back about 90 days later by babying the accounts and using the two that were badly dinged mostly for priority packages and by calling USPS and bitching like hell. I always had SECERAL tracking numbers to use as examples, so they couldn't say it was a one-off thing.

So, to the OP, I feel your pain! Luckily (for me) they resolved the issue and packages now go through the way they used to at the old sorting center - meaning it normally shows movement within 24 hours of arrival.

Oh, and just to share a bit of information...

I asked my eBay rep why eBay's policies dinged me for that issue when everything shows that it was the USPS in general that was the problem, and that one sorting center in particular.

She told me that eBay wants to improve their customer experience (eBay wants to be just like Amazon when they grow up!) and although it is unfortunate for the seller, if there is a bottleneck in the USPS somewhere that affects the seller's ability to deliver, then that still creates a problem with their customers. She said it didn't mean that eBay THOUGHT (sorry, corporations are NOT people and they do not have a THOUGHT PROCESS!) *I* am a bad seller, only that my location is an issue. She stressed that nobody had ever lost an account because of it and these things were usually temporary.

So, basically, we are screwed.

The problem is that when a postal worker breaks a sweat they have to stop and rest...
It's in the union contract and the national government employee mandate.

I don't have shipping issues either - re-evaluate your shipping metrics...what seems to be the problem you can identify OP?

Not exactly sure I understand what you mean rsot. I offer first class and priority mail with all my products. Most orders are obviously being shipped via first class due to the customer will to save. I HAVEN'T GOT A SINGLE COMPLAINT SO FAR from any customer regarding delivery delays. As I mentioned all packages were sent within the time frame set by Amazon.
As long as it doesn't cause my account to be suspended I am OK with that, and can fix it I guess with time. Being an Amazon newbie I am not sure how bad it is to fall under their standards. All other aspects of my account are pretty good.

Yes,having the very same issue.
My 90 day avg for 'On-Time Delivery' is always around 99.xx%
Last 7 days (Dec 7, 2014 to Dec 14, 2014) is a very low 96.52%

I understand - so no complaints - how fast do you enter the details on the platform? As in shipping done

that doesn't matter. My application enters the tracking number instantly. This is an isolated problem with USPS

I think this is the normal yearly delay experienced due to the holidays. I have to believe you are in the same boat as everybody else.

Isolated problems. I noticed now that tracking is not updating for days. 2-day priority packages I ordered from Cali haven't arrived 4 days later. And Amazon's percentage rating can go up very quickly, even if you are low volume. My Amazon account is low volume and went down to 95% due to 2 slow 2nd day packages. Shipped a few on time and it is back up to 100% 2 weeks later. If you are skating on ice, upgrade a couple orders to priority mail to keep it at an acceptable service level.

You are probably right. I went up to "fair" yesterday, instead of the previous "poor" condition, with only 8 more deliveries.
