How many chargebacks does paypal allow on your account per month?

Some douche did a chargeback, it was only a 1 dollar, so I did a refund. How many will paypal allow?

It is not a set number.

Why not win the chargeback though? I think paypal charges a $45.00 fee either way.

actually it was an unauthorized claim, i sold a digital item so i just refunded the douche, will my paypal get limited? i didnt think people would for $1, it was a person with less than 5 feedbacks, can i just not allow them to order it

Oh. Digital items has all sorts of rules I guess. I am not familiar with it.

One chargback is not big deal. Kinda like one case. But ya never know with paypal.

ok somewhere i read 3 case resolutions opened up against you would result in a limit or something

It really depends on how many transactions are going through your account. If you get a lot of orders disputes/chargebacks will happen. As long as you keep accepting liability/issuing refunds you shouldn't have a problem as long as the chargebacks aren't excessive.

I had accounts that would get 1-3 chargebacks a week, but never became limited (like you, I instantly refunded them).

in 2013 I had 34K in chargbacks on one big account. It is not a set number. It maybe a % of your sales kinda like a DSR score, but who knows for sure.

No reason to loose sleep over a chargeback. Cant do anything about it

ok thanks, and yeah out of 5 sold i got 1 one bad one so im wondering if it may happen again, ill continue for now, do you think refunding any one below 3 feedbacks is a good idea if they paid already?

Refunds are a defect now and will result in bad feedback as well.

You need to step up and adjust your selling plan.

You are in a gray area with paypal.

Never operate on how many bad marks can I take from paypal. Rather, operate to have a little trouble as possible.

EG, are you setting buyers' requirements.

Do note your account is marked right now.

Be careful.
