Default Paying by card?

Hey guys, does this seem normal.

I tried to buy an item via paypal but it kept saying - 'Return to merchant and try a different payment method'. After 5 attempts i just decided to buy it with my card, when i clicked pay by card, it bought it automatically without me entering any details? My ebay does not have my card details saved and my paypal is bank verified, card has not been added.

Anyone know what happened? Freaking out at the moment.

This seems to be a problem on PayPal's end.
Seems to occur whenever one does try to make a payment with a credit card/debit card that has different information, e.g. address, as your PayPal account.
Sorry,I have nothing left to offer.

What should my next move be? I'm pretty sure my debit card wasn't charged and I don't own a credit card.. But it says I bought it via credit card when I review order

Sounds like you have used your bank account to fund the payment.

Log into PayPal and have a look to see if the payment is pending.

You sure you have not paid using your bank account?

The default method on ebay is your paypal balance, if thats empty it will be your credit card or the funds come from your bank account attached to your paypal.

This was on PP UK hmm somehow you must have been charged - likely just a delay in the credit card processing
