Default How do I stop scammers from buying/ending my auction?

Im starting off from the 500 limit account selling 500 dollar computer items. As soon as my auction goes live scammers buy it now and requests for my private information. They now have my stealth email, address, and phone number.

Of course they dont pay and go silent. This can be avoided if I can make buy it now with requiring immediate payment but that doesnt work unless i have a premiere account.

This stealth is now wasted because the scammer's account was made in 2012, which means it is probably a legit hacked account, and my own account will be investigated. At best I have to wait a month for my auction to be able to have limit free again. What can I do to prevent this?

Competitors perhaps???
Buying and not paying to cause you problems while they keep there same / similar items live and getting the sales.
Just a thought

Someone purchased all 500 Listings and did not Pay???

If this is the case, than first set up your paypal as a Business account so you get immediate payment

And also under site Preferences adjust your buyer requirements, I set mine to just allowing a buyer to buy or bid on 2 items within a 10 day period, this will eliminate someone buying up all your listings and not paying

And if it's a real customer they will message you if they need to purchase multiple items at once, and you can adjust it to as many as you want

I was interpreting that it is a 5-$500 account and they listed a single $500 item.

Just really simple , upgrade the PayPal to a Business Account and use immediate payment, it's just 3 weeks a way to the new month

Open another eBay account

It's just a competitor May be purchasing an item and not paying for it, But this could also be a real Buyer as Well

If the limits are 5/500 and they are using a BIN option for $500 than they just have one listing up for the Month

So with one Listing it is hard to determine if it's just a normal eBayer buyer not paying or a competitor

Not sure why they don't open an unpaid case

Unfortunately opening an unpaid item case and closing it does not remove the item from your 'Sold' amounts.
When I was selling ATVs and Dirtbikes it killed me, lol I just kept opening more accounts on the ipad.

I got all that, but that's not a scam, lol. I scam is if the buyer purchased the item, got the item, filed a claim, sent back something different or something of that nature.

What he has here is as you put it, he's got a competitor or a none paying customer. We still don't know how long ago the customer made the purchase.

This isnt a scam....but to answer the question at hand. The answer is you dont...you dont stop scammers because even the buyers with hundreds of feedback can scam a seller. And we cant leave negative feedback for them so theres no way for any other sellers to know. ALTHOUGH you CAN put buyer restrictions on your auctions.

The only thing is to adjust your buyer requirements. I used to have scammers all the time until I did this. makes a huge difference.

Adjust your buyer options and adjust your case settings so you can open and close the unpaid case agent a lot faster.

Can you list the item as a fixed price and not an auction? Fixed price, not an auction with a 'buy now' option.

I limit 1 item every 10 days.... Then again this is why I dislike auctions so much. BIN is the only way to avoid it altogether.
