What happens to your funds if PP suspends you

Lets say you got a stealth account running for several years. You have only positive feedback, 0 negative, no complaints whatsoever. PayPal decides to limit your account. You have still $10k in your account. You submit docs but they still refuse to re-instate your account.

Does this mean PayPal steals your money and you'll never be able to get it back?

No.
It usually means that the funds will be held in the account for 180 days and after that time youll be able to withdraw them into your bank account (or request a check for the amount). You will NOT be able to send them to another account.
Also, note that during those 180 days if there are any cases brought up against your account paypal could reverse transactions and take those funds out of your account.

Ok, so if PayPal decides to not re-instate my account, but nobody files a claim during 6 months, I can withdraw the money? So I don't have to fear PayPal stealing my money. I hope someone else can confirm it that was my main concern. I have shipped a lot of stuff and it would suck if all of it would've been for nothing :(.

There are some instances when paypal will hold the funds.
Depends on a case by case basis.

But generally they don't, and I also assume they are not allowed to?

just let it sits and wait 180 days..dont close your bank acc or else you won't be able to withdrawal later. they can actually take your money if lets say you try to take them to court and lose the case... if it's a stealth account, best advice is to wait it out.

CORRECT...He is 100% right! you will get it back.

Choose to withdraw to bank after the 180 days are up.

The check option will be issued in the name on your stealth account. As long as you have a way to cash the check you will be fine.

I have a personnel account and a few stealth accounts that were locked down by PP and the funds will be available next month. 6 months is a long time.

You'll defo get it back. I have had lots of paypal accounts in the past with this hold & always got it back. Just withdraw it to a bank account matching the surname on your paypal or get a vcc that is paypal withdrawable. I just used to look at this as saving up, after the initial shock of the 1st time it happens its nothing to worry about. Hopefully the ebay/pp feds won't find me anymore now I am a stealther.

paypal will let you know what will happen to your funds.

Your eventual outcome is going to depend on which country paypal is involved.

USA paypal is treating its people differently from other countries.

You must also bear in mind that when you signed up to use paypal you accepted their T&S.

One point that paypal try to fool you with is they will, and they do take funds from held monies for chargebacks & penalties.

At the end of 180 days, your balance may be much less than what you had at the start.

Release of funds is subject to dealing with them for release to you.
