Default Specify old postal address on paypal payment note?

Hey,

I have a new account for the last 3 months with ⊗⊗⊗⊗ address. What I would like to do is to order something but to my correct address. I have asked the seller if it's possible and he replied that I could specify the postal address on paypal payment note.

My questions is; if I do that, specify my old original address with all the info, is it dangerous or they don't look at it?

Thanks

Daredevil, Putting your ship to address in the note section when submitting payment does not always work. The seller may still ship to your address on the paypal receipt regardless of your request. This is what I have done and works fine for me when I want to buy something and have it sent to my "Real" address.

1- Log into your paypal account and click the send money tab.
2- Select "Ebay Items" and click on "If you prefer to pay on PayPal,Click here"
3- You should see your items, If not then just enter your Ebay ID and Item #.
4- When you get to the send payment click on the edit ship to address and add a shipping address which is your real address.
5- Click send payment and then go to your profile and delete the address that you just added.

Remember: Do not go through Ebay to send payment and add an address.
Only Go through Paypal to do that.

I have done this 5 times already and it works fine for me.
Hope this helps.

idiotbay, you can NEVER be sure that doing this sort of thing will work OK. Chances are it may but there is no guarantee. tbh, better to find another way of purchasing items. If anyone is a serious seller, no way should they compromise their account with mucking about with different addresses.

Why don't you open a personal paypal account just for buying. Just slightly alter your address and name. if you live at 1023 7th st. Change to 1023 Seventh Street. ETC. Worse case scenario your address is hard to alter, just add an A. 1023-A 7th street. It will still make it to you.

My ebay account is 7 months old and still counting with Gold Power Seller status.

Still no problems here. This is the only real way that I do it to make sure I get my items to my Real Address and not to some ⊗⊗⊗⊗ address.

BooMer,
I do not dispute it may work for you but think of the problems you personally have had with both ebay and PITA buyers. I stand by the comment it can be a risk and cause an account to be lost.

So basically you are saying it is safe, right?
Anyone with any experience with this kind of situation?

I sent the seller a message through eBay telling him that I was taking care of my sick aunt and that I am not going to be home home to recieve the package. I then asked him if he could ship the package to my aunts home. I bought the item when the seller agreed to ship to my real address. I sent him my real address through email only. I got his email address from eBay.

It "ALL" boils down on how much your new selling account means to you and the risks you are willing to take to lose it.

Some people have no choice but to do this as sellers are more protected in sending it to the address listed in the paypal transaction even if it is a confirmed address or not. The new rule on paypal is the seller is required to ship to the address listed on the invoice and not the "note" section in order to have protection.

Also if you exhausted all your Real Physical Addresses from your Relatives, Friends, Co-workers, and Neighbors and you have no other way to receive stuff you purchased then I would suggest do what I have done and described.

So far it is safe for me but this is not 100% full proof just as with anything else you do on Ebay or Paypal.

I hope this helps.
