Default New Ebay item Page = Ebay's Death in Google SERPS

Ebay just changed everyone over to their new item display pages. (at least they did on my listings).

I just spent a bit of time viewing the page code they are using.

IMO this is the death of of ebay listings in all the search engines.

The page's code is nothing but ajax, javascript and iframes -- ZERO crawlable text except for the auction title which is buried 3/4 of way down in the code.

This means the money text in the item description will not be crawled and will not show in organic google search results. Their past pages used html were very easily crawlable.

Kiss organic search traffic to your ebay listings goodbye.

What the ?

I know for a fact that Yahoo and MSN bots cannot read JS, let alone ajax. Google "claims" they can read "some" JS, but in my experience google bot does NOT read JS.

(blackhat techniques use JS links to do dirty things and Google is terrible at catching them)

The new item pages look nice but it's not worth getting turfed from Google just to have nicer looking pages.

Also, any off ebay links are now buried so deep in the code they are of no value.

Thanks ebay, nice to know the listing fees we pay are being to put to good use.

Another thing about the new page.

I turned off javascript on my browser and hit the page.

What the ?

The new ebay Item pages do NOT even display correctly if you have javascript turned off.

The page went from a length of about 2000 pixels to about 8000 pixels of nothing but white under the description. It went haywire with javscript turned off.

A large percentage of browsers and users have Javascript turned off on their browsers due the malicious stuff some bad guys do with it.

If you have javascript turned off the new ebay item pages do NOT display correctly.

More ebay idiocy, are they trying to destroy themselves and their sellers too?
