Default Please contact DHL...

I have a package coming in from China, supposed to be delivered tomorrow. Got a notification this morning telling me to "Please contact DHL."

I called in and was told that item is being inspected closer by customs and to just keep checking back on the DHL website for updates.

What is curious though is that the item's route it has taken so far:

As you can see above, the item came in through CINCINNATI and was processed by Customs. Then it went to MIAMI, and then to JACKSONVILLE where is it now being held. Jacksonville is the big city near me where all mail is processed before reaching its final destination.

Anyone have any experience with this type of thing that can shed some light on the subject for me?

Much appreciated guys!

Im from the UK and have friends in Texas. Quite often send stuff. Theres been a couple of occasions whereby a parcel has practically gone everywhere before they got it.

Hopefully they wont have opened yours coz youll have to pay the customs charges to receive it.
I faced those myself recently as i also have friends in Georgia and jeez the customs charges were hefty. More than what the item was worth.
Sure it will gwt to you eventually :-)

I would wait few more days before acting on this OP - with the amount of movement on the package....just let it sit in the hub and have an inspection update

That is weird that they said 'that item is being inspected closer by customs'. Usually with DHL when it gets to the destination facility it has already cleared customs from Cincinnati...

Did you actually talk to somebody, or was it automated? When this status has happened to me in the past, the seller just left off part of the address or put the wrong zip code. In this case I just called DHL customer service and provided them with the correct address.

Having to pay customs duty is a pain, but does seem to happen every now and then especially with things coming over from China
