Default Hello Guys, Quick question regarding China Post Air

Hello hope you are all good.

I was wondering if I could get your advice .
I have found a product that I like and it is also the cheapest . I think it is due to the free postage , but the free postage is China Post Air.
I am in no crazy rush for the goods but am not shore if this is a wise idea. maybe I should spend a bit more on DHL, but its all money out of the profit.

Thanks for any advice guys

DHL speeds up the shipment time getting to you, China Post Air takes forever.

my chinese supplier always use to use ems, but we don't use it anymore due to items getting seized via this way. Weve switched to dhl...if you're not in a rush, why not send it by sea? Its the cheapest option if you're not in a rush?

Sea really depends on weight as well...bulk load vs. few articles

Thanks guys, I might just go DHL , for my first order then if all goes well with product try some other ways.

Im not shore if you are allowed to talk about if the seller marks down the value of the package.
I have has some suppliers telling me they will mark it lower than the price I am paying?

More confusion

Thanks for all your replys guys.

Much appreciated.

If they mark it down in weight that can get picked by customs and you can find yourself with an extra bill to pay

He is talking about marking down customs value.
So in other words if his parcel is $500 he wants to tell dhl its $200 to pay less duty.

But putting false values on items is a criminal offence and you can face fines up to £2000 or more.
You could also get asked for invoices etc..

Customs isnt to expensive to risk this.
Some of my $600 boxes cost me £85 and some get through without any duty.
But obviously its based on the category you are receiving.

Thanks for the reply.
I am paying just over 1000 usd for 150 items.
so the items cost about 400 usd and the rest is shipping.
I don't really know how much customs i WILL HAVE TO PAY.
some say I wont have to pay any and some say they will value the package as 200 usd .

I suppose i will just have to see what happens

Thanks for the info guys

Well you could pay between £40-£80 for $400 items but if you lucky you wont get charged.

All i know is you HAVE to pay it, or they send you to debt collectors.

used China post air lots times I travel to Beijing too and import..usually takes 7-10 days it's the same as using ems. gets processed and shipped at the same sorting office. same company....never had a shipment lost or confiscated. use them don't be put off. tried and tested over many years.

customs all depends on how you send it...samples etc will attract customs duty. usually £40 pounds. if you get it marked as personal or gift then it can slip through for free. be prepared to pay £40 a box...the trick is to declare the goods at low value...customs duty is only ever based on the value of the import...the lower the value the lower the duty.ps its a paperwork excercise and normally charged by your local post office on behalf of customs too.
