I don't predict a landslide, but I'm sure Obama will clearly win.

Looks like the travel industry will be booming in the coming days and weeks, with all the McCain supporters that have promised to move to another country in case Obama wins :D

As Modee predicted it was a land slide win for Obama. Wow we have our first black president! He's seems like an okay guy but I don't like some of the stuff he agrees with such as abortion or gay marriage.

Yeah Obama is in. Now business tax is gonna go from 35% to 47% and he plans to cut out any loopholes we currently use to save on the tax breaks. Good job guys! You sure know how to pick them!!! (sarcastic -- couldn't find a smiley for this one)

Nobody likes to pay taxes, that's a fact. I don't either. But Bush has bankrupted the entire country and caused trillions of debt. That money doesn't come back from nowhere. It comes from taxes. You can either save taxes and live in an economic poophole or you can pay taxes and build the country back up that has been ruined by Bush.

If you want to complain about taxes, don't complain about Obama. Go complain about Bush. If he didn't bankrupt the country, Obama wouldn't have to increase taxes. He has no choice but to increase taxes to fix the the country, not just the economy.

Hehe your so funny.

Everyone is so quick to point fingers at Bush, but it is more Congress than Bush himself. At one point (before the war), it was said 93% of Americans were happy with the job he did. The war has clouded old memories and many have forgotten how he pulled us out of the Dot Com Boom that happened back at the beginning of the new Millennium or the fact that he did do a good job at keeping us safe post 9/11 no matter how extreme some think his choices were. Most people who are against the war were FOR it at some point, it is just a matter of when enough was enough. Also, there was a very large debt before Bush came into office as well, and we are to blame for some of the debt, do to us begging for tax cuts back in 2001 which exceeded 1.65 trillion!

People can scream Bush Bush Bush! all they want, but the fact remains it will continue. Obama announced in the first Presidential debate a budget of over $800 billion his first year (without any add-ons by Congress) while McCain insisted we freeze multiple projects that are not in need of our immediate attention. If you don't believe me, feel free to download it or watch it using OnDemand on Comcast.

Also, when you say, "...don't complain about Obama. Go complain about Bush. If he didn't bankrupt the country, Obama wouldn't have to increase taxes.", you are misleading yourself. Obama 'plans' to do a tax cut for 95% of citizens (aka middle class and families in poverty) and raise taxes on the remaining 5% (the wealthy). You also mention our "economic poophole" but raising taxes on large companies will result in more layoffs, more businesses going bankrupt, which will result in more people on unemployment, more welfare, more economic downfall, and more outsourcing to third-world countries to make ends meet for companies on the brink of bankruptcy. Now how is that going to help our country?

And don't get started on this Universal Health Care Program. That is going to cost us BILLIONS every year, and out health care system is going to become worthless with all hospitals turning into 'clinics' of sorts, and people not getting the health care they need most when they need it. Sure your going to get your arm patched up when you need it, but good luck having these so-so doctors find that tumor that's lingering inside of you.

-HeG (no hard feelings imjustme, just positive discussion amongst friends)

P.S. - You say, "That money doesn't come back from nowhere. It comes from taxes." which is true to a point, but budget cuts will pay it off much faster than tax dollars. We spent trillions every year on projects that we really don't need to be working on. We do not need to see if there is life on Saturn, we do not need to create a paint that dries in space, there is a ton of cuts we could make that just won't happen. Keep checking the U.S. Debt Clock after Obama starts working and let me know if you see anything different happening besided better speeches and more empty promises. :(

You were awesome to criticize my points, but do you have a better answer to the problems? Say big companies have to pay less taxes as opposed to more taxes under Obama ..from where does the money come from?

The United States is BROKE. Maybe people don't understand that yet or don't want to understand it, but you can't fix a debt unless you start to pay it off. And unless the government starts to print more money bills and gets themselves into another hole with an inflation, they have no chance but to raise taxes. Tell me, where does the money come from if not from taxes? If you can answer that, then we can start discussing again. If not, then you should get my point.

And don't tell me that Congress was responsible for the economic breakdown. Per U.S. Const., Article I, Section 7 all legislation passed by both houses of Congress must be presented to the President (Bush). If Bush doesn't sign it, it won't pass. If he was such a great president and it was all the fault of Congress, why didn't he Veto?

If I had the answer to all your problems I'd be running for President instead of selling on eBay lol.

As stated in my previous response, McCain wanted to freeze unnecessary projects. Since you didn't understand that, let me rephrase it a little. If you have $800 billion in projects and you take away $500 billion in unnecessary projects, that leaves you with only $300 billion in projects. That means the $500 billion you aren't going to use anymore can be used for purposes like clearing the U.S. Debt.

Hehe you must think the President sits there and reads bills all day. Heck, most people probably do think that. The President has a board of Directors that he listens to. They read it for him, and give him a 3-page summary. They also sit him down every morning and tell him why he should Veto this and why he should pass that. Consider the President the Spokesman for the Government because that is pretty much all they are unless they totally distrust their board and go against everything they say. Also, I never said Bush was a great President, only that people are quick to point the finger. Please stop putting words into my mouth. That is your first and only warning.

-HeG

I also agree with Modee except when he states "a little more taxes". 35% + incentives to 47% with no incetives will be a difference of, well, almost 46% for most business owners. Not a little bit at all. lol

Hardly a landslide at all. 54% to 46% on the popular vote is hardly a landslide. Yes the electoral votes make appear that way. But a land slide I think NOT.

Shortly after bush took office, the power companies were doing crooked things and it's rather complicated, but Bush decided not to intervene so there were rolling blackouts in California for six months and this caused the dot com bubble to burst. Computer jobs went overseas and America never recovered.

9/11? Well there's a lot of evidence that Bush orchestrated 9/11. There was even an episode on TV that warned of it 6 months before it happened. Remember the show "The Lone Gunmen" and their pilot episode that warned of 9/11? Well google it then. There's also evidence that Osama Bin Laden (who bush gave his family all free escorts out of the country when every other plane was grounded after 9/11) originally denied the attacks because he wasn't really behind them, rather the United States government was, and Osama only later claimed credit to be a spokesperson for anti-America. And the towers fell due to controlled demolition, too.

As for money coming from nowhere, The Federal Reserve prints much more money than it taxes or borrows.
