Activity: 0% Longevity: 61% | | Does tax limitation reset in January?
My research has brought up conflicting information on this, so I wanted to know if everyone can compile their own experiences here on this thread.
We all know about the 20k/200 threshold, and most of us know that PP will request an SSN/EIN before these limits are reached (based on projections).
What I want to know is, when you receive the notification from PP when logging into your account requesting your SSN/EIN, if you just leave that account alone for the rest of the year until January, will this demand for your SSN/EIN disappear and you can go about selling normally once you reach January?
Also, same question but different scenario: what about if you ignore the first couple requests, keep selling, and your account gets limited (not allowed to accept payments but can still withdraw money - typical SSN/EIN limitation), and you then let this account sit until January, will the limitation go away in January?
Thank you!

In 2014, I just sold the hell out of the accounts that got the EIN requests until they received the payment limitations, then I just withdrew the money and ditched the accounts. I am hitting myself over the head now… sheeeeet.

Might as well give it a whirl! What else do you have to loose? Worse case scenario is that you have to call in.

well I just logged into one of the paypal accounts that got the EIN request back in October. Under my alerts it still says "To remove limitations on your account, update your settings. Provide Tax information." I guess this means the limits are still there…
Also checked the ebay and the account got suspended for non-payment. Pretty sure the other couple of accounts I have that got hit with the EIN request are in the same boat. So the ebays are useless. Idk if I trust them to reinstate my account after making payment.

I do remember selling quite a bit beyond the first request. So I guess you can't just sell as much as you want until you get limited? There's still a certain amount you need to stay under? I just want to know the thresholds for an EIN request that will go away in January vs one that wont.
And I tried checking my other PP but it won't let me log in. It says the information is not correct, but I am sure I am using the correct username and password. Would they have shut down my account for being in a negative balance for so long?
As for the other accounts that got hit with a Tax ID, they belong to my partner. I will have to check with him.

That is so random. I have an account now that is about double the $$$ wise and has far exceeded the 200 piece account and has not had the request yet. I consider this a junk account and just selling the heck out of it and that may be why, I might be selling faster than systems catches it.
Other accounts will get it at 170 items and less than 2K on them.

thanks for helping me out, I'm going to take care of the accounts that get Tax ID request instead of ditching them from now on.

I've had paypal accounts that have gotten limited because received too much money without putting the tax id in, and then when the new year started the accounts were no longer limited without me doing anything, so yes the limits reset

It got limited in october.

123 is right. It can reset.
I have one backup account that reset no problem last year after the warning.

Oh crap, I misread, my apologies. It was simply the EIN/SSN warning. Not limitation.
